Looks like Bob S. Got himself a fancy new Droid phone, I have a Droid2 and I totally love it. My Wife has a Droid X and never looked back to her iPhone. SayUncle also has a Droid X. At the NRA convention I saw a lot more Droid-based phones than iPhones. That being said I saw a SHITLOAD more 1911 pistols than Glocks…because the Glocks were only at the Glock booth, and the 1911s were at every other damn booth. Couldn’t remember if I saw any other Droid2s Maybe ThotPD has one?
So yeah the competition is hardly even, but the platform is damn solid. Also for those who don’t know, I don’t own a laptop. While I was at the NRA con all my posts were done from my phone, and blogging is pretty darn easy with it given that its pocket-sized.

I have an Android-driven HTC Thunderbolt. I’m pretty impressed with what it does. I have yet to make an app for it, but I have a plan for one.
Mine is a Samsung Epic 4G and it is awesome!
There are still a lot of apps I have on my iPhone that aren’t on the Android. I keep being told that will change but I’m still waiting.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, Alan. Won’t be long before the phone market is much like the Apple PC market. Yuppie school kids writing a report on a MacBook running MS Office.
I’m on an LG Optimus S, also running Android. Plus, I just got a Nook Color (Android based with a B&N custom UI) and I already have it set up to run Android Honeycomb – which it can do from the SD card without even having to root it.
Google is quickly catching up to (if not passing) Apple for the same reason Microsoft did back in the late 80’s and early 90’s – most brands run Android, but only one brand runs iOS. Apple has history and prestige going for it, but Android has availability. Apple may have set the stage, but they really hurt themselves by staying exclusive with AT&T for so long, and the fact that they’re still exclusive to only AT&T and Verizon is hurting them more.
I’m on an Iphone, an original 3G.
Why not Droid? Well because Verizon service is expensive as hell.
Alan do you have any examples of apps that you have on your iphone that aren’t available on android? My wife has an iphone 4 and I have the Droid X and there hasn’t yet been an app she can download that I can’t, or at least get an equivalent. I even have 2 ballistics apps on my Droid that are great.
HTC Aria with AT&T. Love it. If the Iphone has an app that I need, I don’t know about it.
