I’m Not exactly going to present this in the usual way, but its more of the same. I found this twitter post this morning:
The #gunregistry is vital to women’s safety & injury/death prevention. Tell your MP.
First this is why I’ve been getting most of my opposition research on Twitter. The anti-rights people LOVE it because the short tweets don’t leave room for supporting facts, and unless I’m using the website wrong, there’s really no easy way for 3rd party tweeters to read rebuttals to factually incorrect tweets made.
Perfect for them. No need to tell the proof or even to support their lies with “Scientific Studies” funded by one of their AstroTurf groups, because there’s no room, and they can just ignore pro-rights people who tweet rebuttals at them.
So how does this show psychological projection from the antis? Well this post is a total lie. The Canadian Gun Registry (specifically the long-gun registry which is under attack by logical people) doesn’t protect women from violence. I know this because it hasn’t protected ANYBODY!
Registries, ballistic fingerprinting, and micro-stamping don’t work. Any place where they have been implemented they have been found to not stop crime, and not to help police solve crimes.
Projection? Well the CGC is dumping a big load of steamy crap into the lap of their followers, and demanding they take political action without slightest question. But its a lie, and they have to know it.
Can you blame them for not trusting anybody with a gun? They know THEY can’t be trusted, so why should other people be trusted.
Easy, because we’re not LIKE you!

You may have just hit on a key point in their whole campaign … Can’t rebut, no facts, etc…
Serioulsy, GUN REGISTRATION IS A BAD THING all it does is make good people jump through hoops (and more hoops and a few more firery ones). Oh, and cost money.
Then the people running the registry screw up (http://www.ssaa.org.au/capital-news/2011/2011-04-18_ssaa-wa-discusses-state-licensing-issues.html) and it costs ‘good people’ MORE money.
Do what ever you must to stop gun registration whereever you are!
Registries are kind of like video cameras… they might help identify the criminals after the fact, but they generally are not going to deter those criminals from doing whatever the hell it was they were doing to begin with.
But you and I both know that the criminals are not the ones being targeted through registries.
