Just saw a car where the last three digits of the license plate were NF4, and I spent a good while trying to figure out if the first digits implied what NFA Items they were into.
LOL!

When I’m doing data processing I’m always running into numbers that are like 5.56 or .303 or whatever. Every time I see them I have to go “Wow, you are a gun-nut.”
I thought it was bad when I’d type in a web address and finish it with “Center Of Mass”
Oh Jesus, now I’m never going to be able to read “.com” the same way!!!
I really want to be a gun nut, but help me out Weer’d, NFA????
National Firearms Act of 1934.
It’s the law that regulates machine guns, silencers, short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns, etc.
Thank you Wally. I am off to read more about that.
Yeah the NFA is a total piece of crap.
Thankfully I have buddies like Wally who are willing to get the ATF Anal-Probe to build NFA items…and then let me shoot them!
Well, I totally need to become friends with Wally:)
Being a gun blogger certainly means you get to make a LOT of new friends!
Outside of the personal healing, the best thing about blogging has been the people. Very smart, kind, funny and generous folks.
Just doing the good ambassador thing, and doing a bit to try and get them more mainstream.
It is just that. It would be interesting to interview people like Lissa and some of Oleg’s models who’s first trips to the range were with Suppressed and other NFA Items.
I’d been shooting for over a decade, and owned my own guns for about half that time before I ever fired full-auto or suppressed guns, they still feel new and strange to me.
But Lissa was as green as they come that first Blog Shoot and I think many of the NFA items were represented that day. I know there were full-autos, Suppressors, and AOWs, not sure if anybody had anything short that didn’t have a fun-switch, and I know your lovely DD wasn’t there yet 🙂
