State wildlife officials have identified the man who has been spotted dressed in a goat suit among a herd of wild goats in the mountains of northern Utah.
Phil Douglass of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources said Monday the mystery man is a 57-year-old hunter from Southern California.
Glad he wasn’t hunting for a goaty girlfriend!
Seems like a good idea for getting in range without spooking them!

Are you sure he’s not a perv? He could be both…
Could be! And there is NOTHING wrong with that!
All I could hear in my head as I read this was “you’re not here for the hunting, are you?”
California hunters have been a running joke here in Utah as long as I remember (and I’m 60). I remember more than once of them being busted for shooting elk and moose during the deer season, and once a pair was arrested for shooting a mule during the deer hunt. They had it dressed and hung up in their camp.
Slow Elk!
There was an out of state hunter in MT who shot a llama, and he didn’t figure out his mistake until he brought it to the taxidermist. I thought he was from CA, but the news article I found said he was from NY.
And one time I was driving out to my friends’ ranch, and as we came around a corner on the dirt road next to a field of cows, there was a car with CA plates parked on the side. We stopped along side and rolled down the window to ask if they needed help, and they said “No we’re just looking at the deer.” Totally straight faced. I don’t know how we managed to not start laughing right then and there, but we managed to get the window rolled back up first…
“Seems like a good idea for getting in range without spooking them!”
And that’s how I explained the women’s clothes in my closet.
