“Gun Death” Bat Beating

There’s a lot in this one:

A Tampa man has been convicted of beating his wife to death with a baseball bat.

…Authorities say **KILLER** and his wife, **VICTIM**, got into an argument at their Tampa home in June 2010, and **KILLER** later went to a neighbor’s house to tell them his wife had a heart attack.

So the anti-rights activists always tell us that they focus on “Gun Death” because guns make it “Too Easy” for a simple argument to become a fatal event. Odd how that doesn’t seem to play out in reality. Also the antis constantly claim that states like Florida that are relatively nonrestrictive on gun ownership that “Gun Death” is more prevalent.

Of course reality is that those who are willing to kill over a simple argument or other trivial event don’t CARE what tools are available, and “Ease of Murder” is really only in the mind of the killer.

Another Handgun Radio Show

This was a really fun episode because I was talking with Ryan about Myths of Concealed carry, and it lead to a lot of fun discussions about our early days carrying firearms.

So step back in the time machine with us and enjoy our time as baby gun toters!

“Gun Death” Horrible Mom

Ye Been Warned:

Less than a week before **REDACTED** was charged with suffocating her two young children, police had escorted her to a hospital for an emergency psychiatric evaluation. She had threatened to kill herself and **REDACTED**, her 3-year-old daughter, authorities said Monday.

…On Sunday, authorities received a call about 2:15 from the children’s maternal grandmother, **REDACTED**, that **REDACTED** were not breathing, charging documents say.

“Investigators learned from **REDACTED** that **REDACTED** . . . woke her up and ultimately told her that she killed her children,” according to court records. “v then found the children with plastic bags and duct tape around their faces and heads.”

Sorry for all the redacted names, but I just can’t publish all the personal details, you’ll have to read the report. Now given our current mental health system, this woman would not have been barred from buying a gun because non court-ordered mental health care is private medical information. I prefer this, as you often hear of mental-health practitioners giving bad diagnoses, or pushing their personal agenda (one of the better examples is what was done to homosexuals by the mental health system not long ago, or the ever evolving paradigm that is “Autism”), so the fact that somebody getting rights stripped from them needs to be in front of an impartial judge, and have legal representation. It’s hardly perfect, but it’s better than scrapping the whole thing for some other method IMHO.

Still even if she was barred from owning firearms by her first evaluation, what good would it have done? Of course the antis don’t care, because only “Gun Deaths” count, so only people with mental issues SHOOTING people is relevant for discussion.

“Gun Death” Dog Mauling

Some things do “Just Go Off”

A pit bull owner convicted of second-degree murder after his dogs fatally mauled a woman was sentenced Friday to 15 years to life in prison.

**REDACTED**, 31, was convicted last month in the death of **VICTIM**. The 63-year-old retiree was taking a morning stroll in the high desert town of Littlerock when four of **REDACTED** dogs leaped over a fence and attacked her in the street.

She was alone, didn’t have a phone and no one was nearby. By the time help arrived, she had been bitten 150 to 200 times from head to toe and an arm was severed. She died from blood loss.

**REDACTED** was initially arrested when deputies searching for the dogs discovered a marijuana-growing operation in his house. He was later charged with murder when **VICTIM** DNA was found on his dogs’ bloody fur.

A murder conviction for a killing by dogs is rare.

Now what’s really interesting is that in California, where this happened, marijuana is essentially legal. There are doctors who will simply write a “prescription” for anybody with a pulse to go and buy or grow their own pot. Except this guy didn’t care about any of that, nor did he seem to care if his vicious dogs got loose.

Hey, but at least it wasn’t a “Gun Death”, right?

Play Me Out Nekromantix

The opening riff rather reminds me of classic Castlevania games.

The rest is just awesome Psychobilly!

More Snow

Man 2015 is kicking my ass already! Woke up at 5am to driving snow. Spoke with the wife and we decided that getting little LaWeer’da to daycare would be far more trouble than it was worth, and she could stay home with the Baby and given that last week’s storm had set me behind on my work, I’d make a mad dash into the office.

Made it in early, and just got home, and now I’m prepping to go back out to start clearing the snow which isn’t going to stop until late tonight.

Ugh…Bob, you’re right….

Gun Owners Should Fear The Power of Mom’s Demand Action!

PSYCH!

LANSING – A small group met this morning in front of the Frandor Shopping Center Kroger to demand the grocery chain ban customers from openly carrying guns in its stores.

The eight women, including East Lansing resident Linda Brundage, asked shoppers to shop elsewhere until Kroger prohibits customers from openly carrying guns. Protesters were members of the nationwide Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense in America. Brundage heads the group’s mid-Michigan chapter.

WOW EIGHT! That’s two-more than a Half-Dozen! The end is Nigh!

Also have a look at the photo!

Grandmas Demand Action

They really should call the group “Grandmas Demand Action”, the photo doesn’t show the whole group, but there are three heads with a lot of grey hair!

I also found this photo from an earlier protest that obviously had as much effect as this devastating blow:

Few more people in this one, and all of them, if actually Moms, likely have children with grey hair as well!

Now I’m not being ageist here, there are lots of senior citizens fighting the good fight for gun rights, and I’m a HUGE Fan of Col. Jeff Cooper who was placed in the ground almost a decade ago at age 86. Still this group can’t even fill a short bus with their membership, and unlike gun rights groups there doesn’t really seem to be many young members to replace these older ones once they slip their mortal coil.

Hell youth can almost be considered a PROBLEM with gun rights. Look at all the photos from various Texas Open Carry protests. They get big numbers, but many of the participants are people in their 20s and 30s, and many of the problems with these groups comes from youthful bravado and the one-upsmanship that happens when people don’t have a long life that defines themselves.

All in all, I’m starting to wonder, with the VERY Small number of anti-gun supporters out there, and the majority of them being Baby Boomers, I wonder if we could simply just wait them out.

By the time my few grey hairs overtake my last blond ones, will there simply be nobody left to fight?

It’d be boring, given that I’m getting known as the guy who hounds the anti-gunners, but I’m sure I could find other things to do…like shoot the full-auto PDW I bought at the local hardware store! 😉

Interesting Superbowl Ad

Didn’t watch the game, and I have no idea if this ad got any wide play:

Found it via Joan Peterson. What I found interesting was A) The woman who was in such danger she couldn’t even hint that she was calling for help noted that there were no weapons in the house. You don’t need an armed attacker to be in fear for your life, and B) When seconds count and your attacker is in the room with you, police are minutes away.

If you are in an abusive relationship GET OUT NOW! You can pick up the pieces with safety and support later, as you never know when a bad night like this is going to happen.

“Gun Death” Another Beating Death

Sounds like a single punch too:

A judge in central Ohio has sentenced a 28-year-old man to nine years in prison for killing his 4-year-old son by hitting him in the chest.

…A prosecutor says the man struck the boy in the chest, stopping his heart.

Brutal, and horrible, but not a “Gun Death”, so look the other way!
