Felons Aren’t Known For Being Smart

Felon seen on Twitter holding guns gets 18 months

In a photo he posted on Twitter, Kwmaine Davis had a big smile on his face as he held one gun in each hand at a shooting range. His message to his followers: “Yes, I’m really bout that action.”

What Davis didn’t know is that one of his followers was a Boston police officer.

As a convicted felon, Davis isn’t allowed to possess guns, even if he’s only shooting them at a firing range. A federal judge sentenced him Wednesday to 18 months in prison for doing just that.

After seeing two firing range photos Davis posted on Twitter, Boston police notified federal authorities. Police were concerned that Davis, a known member of a violent Boston gang, had gone to the firing range to perfect his shooting skills. He already had been shot twice himself and convicted once before for illegal possession of a gun.

Criminals don’t care about the law. He’s a violent gang member, he’s been shot twice before, and this isn’t his first gun conviction, yet still not only did he illegally get guns, but he posted pictures of it online.

Of course why not?

He was sentenced to prison after saying he accepted responsibility for his actions and wanted to turn his life around. Davis, 23, told U.S. District Judge Denise Casper that he plans to go to counseling, return to school and find a job after his release.

Casper imposed a sentence that was agreed to by prosecutors and Davis’ lawyer under a plea deal. The judge told Davis she hopes he will make an “earnest effort” to get his life on track.

“At the end of the day, it’s up to you, and I wish you good luck,” she said, just before Davis was led away to begin serving his sentence.

Davis’ lawyer, Joshua Hanye, said his client admitted to being a member of the H-bloc gang – a violent gang that operates in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood – since the age of 13. But he said he Davis is “ready to make a change.”

Just tell the judge that THIS TIME you’re serious about flying the straight an narrow and he’ll give you a 18 month sentence at the grey-bar hotel! I’ll be AMAZED if he’s not out on the streets dealing drugs and carrying guns in six months!

We won’t be rid of this thug until somebody kills him, or he finally kills somebody else.

The moral of this story is that gun laws are pointless, because criminals don’t care, and the Justice system doesn’t seem to care much more. There is no evidence that this guy is going to clean up his act, and I would say quite the evidence to the contrary, and all he has to do is be a “good boy” by prison standards and he’ll be back with the gang in Boston before spring!

This story will ONLY end in murder. either the murder of Mr. Davis, or the murder of somebody else. I would say potentially somebody defending themselves from Mr. Davis, but this is Boston. This is how violent crime is treated in this country, and why you NEED to carry a gun!

Maybe I’m Getting Cynical

Or maybe it’s just common sense.

13 Years ago we were attacked by terrorists. I was out to sea and thankful for that. I was away from the wide-scale panic and sheltered to some extent from the media, tho we were getting TV signal from the mainland.

Still that memory while not fading is being overshadowed by more recent dates. Other terrorist attacks like the assault on the Embassy in Benghazi, as well as other terrorist and Islamic violence done on other days, like the recent beheddings of American Citizens and the bombing at the Boston Marathon.

I can’t help but remember more than just that attack on that clear morning in September, while the calm seas lapped at the hull.

This video is more like how I’m feeling today:

I’ll spend today watching my daughter who will never know the 9-10 years (but will hopefully see them return to some extent) and helping the workmen who are working on my house which is my little piece of the American Dream.

Nothing since then has been as horrible as on that morning, but the horrors after have effected far more, and for this I’m sad.

Images of the Antis: Gun Bans

Again, not really thinking:

Baldr DC Shootings

So I have no idea when this image was made. It could have been after the Heller decision, or the recent decision that DC’s Ban on carry was unconstitutional.

Still Jason’s comment is kind of silly. “Where there are guns there are shootings”.

The people in the image are seeking refuge in the Supreme Court building, which is a “Gun Free Zone”, but what are they seeking shelter FROM?

DC Homicide and violent crime rates have been DROPPING since the gun laws in the district are being liberalized! Also there are so many places that have near 100% gun ownership that have very few shootings.

It isn’t gun ownership, it’s WHO owns them. You have a place where only criminals own guns, you have a LOT of shootings. You have a place where mostly law abiding citizens have guns and suddenly criminals aren’t as bold.

But oddly the anti-rights people claim all they care about is public safety…yet they ignore when the public actually becomes safer!

He’s Doing Something Right

Wild Turkey maker reaches 60th year in business

Jimmy Russell strolled into a roomful of tourists, and soon the patriarch of Kentucky bourbon was surrounded by fans, posing for pictures and autographing bottles. The man behind Wild Turkey even took a turn as barkeeper, pouring samples of amber whiskey at the distillery’s visitors’ center.

When Brian Leathers of Hammond, Louisiana, told him he’d been drinking Wild Turkey for years, Russell replied: “I’ve made every drop.”

That was no idle barroom boast. The 79-year-old master distiller known as “Jimmy” to everyone in the bourbon industry has indeed been responsible for every drop of Wild Turkey produced for generations of consumers.

Celebrating his 60th year in the business, Russell has overseen production of about 3 million barrels of bourbon as Wild Turkey’s master distiller – enough to fill about 20 million cases, according to the brand’s parent company, Italian-based Gruppo Campari.

Man, read the whole thing, that’s a cool career story right there. Also because it happens to be my go-to everyday bourbon.

Well That’s a New One

An “Anarchist-Collectivist”

And “Every Individual is part of a Collective” means “Shut up and like your Socialism!”

Heh, even anti-rights “Progressives” are getting sick of the “Progressive” moniker.

Also I’ve never heard of this dude. When I first saw the image I thought it Giovanni Ribisi after a LOOONG bender. I Googled his name, and even Google and wikipedia say he’s a nobody.

Sorry loser, I’m not part of your “Collective”, Fuck off!

Images of the Antis: Just Dumb

I’m amazed at how dumb this is:

What you mean like this one?

Or do you mean PHYSICALLY protecting women? Not just their rights? Like the right to keep and bear arms? Of course Ms. Smeal is the founder of NOW which believes that women are as powerful and as good as men…until a man physically assaults her, then they need to call a strange man on the telephone to come save her like in an old sexist faerie tale.

Of course all the Bill of Rights applies equally to women as it does men. Hell she used her 1st Amendment rights to malign the 2nd Amendment! As well as her urges for women to not go armed to their physical detriment.

I’m amazed somebody could make a statement so tone-deaf, but I’m more amazed that somebody would then make a graphic, and other people would spread it.

Hey but if anti-gun people were smart, they’d be pro-gun.

“Gun Death” Dryer

Thankfully no death, but damn serious!

A man is accused of putting a 2-year-old Maine toddler in a clothes dryer and turning it on, burning the boy.

WABI-TV ( http://bit.ly/1tFbOs2 ) reports that police say the boy’s mother left him with her boyfriend, **MONSTER**, while she went to work. According to court documents, the Bangor boy suffered second-degree burns on his arms and back and burns and blisters on his feet.

Again with Mommy’s boyfriend! How many times has this come up? What kind of beast puts a baby in the dryer for ANY reason? It doesn’t take much to kill a two-year-old, and this could have EASILY done it. Hear those stories of kids dying in hot cars? What gets hotter? A clothes dryer!

Also to step outside the seriousness, who NEEDS a clothes dryer? I have a clothes line (yes I still use a dryer, I don’t have enough line to dry every sock and pair of underwear I wash, small stuff on nice days go in the dryer) you don’t NEED to dry your clothes in these deadly murder devices.

Oh and also, note that almost everybody has a clothes dryer. My first apartment didn’t have one, but every other place had in-house laundry. Odd how this isn’t an every-day story.

Maybe its the people, not the tool.

Images of the Antis: Pure Hatred

How he describes himself:

Baldr Odinson approaches the University of Oregon library dressed entirely in white-sweatshirt, sweatpants, and tennis shoes. A tiny red button on his chest contrasts the white ensemble. The button reads, “Stop Gun Violence.” When asked why he wears all white clothing, he proudly proclaims, “…white is the color of peace.”

…He now works to stop gun violence because he, “…want[s] a better world for my kids, than the one I grew up in.”

How he presents himself:

Baldr hate

Hilariously he goes and maligns pro-gun havens. Notice how the entire Northeast is “Open-Carryland”, yet that includes New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. All places with horribly restrictive gun laws and places where if open carry IS permitted, it’s by license only, and open carry is a good way to LOSE that license as well as get your ass arrested.

California is also maligned, yet it’s the poster child for gun control. Hell ALL of the country is maligned, because HATE.

Further I saved Jason’s comment because that’s how he REALLY feels. We’re not a nation of laws and liberty, we’re “Dumbfuckistan” and “The United States of Stupid” in his eyes.

This is why his blog has no comment section, and other anti-gun blogs and websites ban any discussion of how guns are a GOOD thing.

No we don’t carry because we like Liberty and want to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. No, it is pure coincidence that as gun laws become more lax, violent crime rates go down.

Nope, we’re just a bunch of “Dumb Fucks” for not bowing to his petty agenda.

He wants to live in a more peaceful and better world, while he roots for a bloody civil war and supports peaceful gun owners being killed for simply exercising their rights.

Classy, nee?

**UPDATE** For Bob
jason kilgore with sword-2

Guns are horrible weapons designed ONLY TO KILL!!! But swords are swell!

Quote of the Day: Littlejohn

This is just an awesome quote in the comments at Uncle’s:

911 calls full of BS info are the rule, not the exception. It was either a justified shoot or it wasn’t. Even if the 911 caller had reported that the guy had slaughtered a bunch of people, it still isn’t a justified shoot if the guy isn’t a threat when the officer meets him, so the notion that many are floating that the lying panicky dude is “responsible” for the death is just incorrect. Stay focused on what matters, the shoot was either justified or it wasn’t, regardless of what police knew or thought they knew prior to arrival. stop worrying about the DB who reported it, he is going to get his just by having his time and money wasted defending himself in a civil suit. the caller is only news because the dead guy’s family lawyer wants it to be.

This is all about this case which seems like a pure case of SWATing. No idea of the motives, but he lied to 911 to get police action for a non-event. Still unless this guy works for a local anti-gun Bloomberg/Joyce/Brady chapter where such SWATing have been suggested and encouraged, or he has posts on his facebook page talking about how much he hates blacks or gun owners, it will be REALLY hard to prove that he’s not just a total idiot and a simple liar. From the evidence I’ve seen it really only seems like a “filing a false report” charge of some sort is the only easy conviction.

That being said the police shot a guy with a toy in a store that sells said toys. There should be camera footage of this guy handling the toy before the police were called, and his final moments of life. That information will tell a LOT of the story we don’t know right now.

That being said Littlejohn makes an amazing point. James Holmes and Jared Loughner are both still alive. They are both murderers (not convicted, but there is ZERO question they killed a bunch of people intentionally, the only REAL question in their cases is how batshit insane they are) and they were both arrested by police. The police didn’t shoot them as soon as they encountered them. They encountered dangerous murderers, but it was AFTER they were a threat so that is a “no shoot” situation.

This dude was NOT a danger to anybody. It is possible he might have appeared to be a threat when police arrived, but given that Wal-Mart only sells PC gun toys with bright colored plastic (at least on the muzzle which is the only part the Police should be concerned about) I have VERY strong doubts about this.

Really EVERY call police get sent to, they must understand that until they see for themselves, it could be total bullshit. A call of a dude shoplifting a squirt gun could be a lunatic with a gun robbing the place or staging a mass murder. Also any call of a mass shooter could just be a guy buying a toy for his kids.

The asshole Marine Corps wash-out who made the call is really nothing more than an asshole. The police are the ones who shot an unarmed man with a toy in a toy store.
