“Gun Death” Terrible Accident

Wow, my heart goes out to the family of this man!

A retired photographer bled to death at home after accidentally cutting himself on a broken wine glass when taking out the rubbish.

John Fozard tried to staunch the blood when the glass tore through the polythene bin bag and left a four-centimetre wound on his thigh before collapsing in the bathroom.

The 66-year-old left pools of blood around the house and smeared up the walls as he desperately attempted to stem the flow from the severed artery just above his knee.

A horrible accident, but you can see just how fragile human life can be, and how minor a lethal wound can be. But of course only “Gun Death” should count, right?

Politics of Bizzaro World

This article sent to me by Les is just beyond strange.

With Bill de Blasio taking office as mayor in January, New York City appears poised for a resurgence of liberal policies.

After 20 years of Republican leadership, not only will America’s largest city have the most liberal mayor in a generation, helping him implement change will be a progressive-leaning City Council and a longtime liberal ally in the new public advocate.

The city was governed for the last 12 years by Michael Bloomberg, a political independent who was first elected as a Republican, and for eight years before that by Republican Rudolph Giuliani.

To observers as well as Democratic legislators, the last election marked a major change in New York City politics, with a new breed of highly liberal politicians ready to enact a series of progressive policies that would have been dead on arrival under Bloomberg or his predecessor Giuliani.

WTF?? OK there might be some that MIGHT argue that Rudi Giuliani was a Republican. These would be the same political half-wits that would argue that John McCain and Mitt Romney were also Republicans. Yes Bloomberg was elected as a “Republican”, but this was simple political strategy for Bloomberg to enter an empty primary rather than blow all his campaign money fighting against another Authoritarian Democrat, since Bloomberg had always been a Democrat.

We experience the same odd politics in Boston, where the people are just SO desperate for an overbearing mother that they CONSTANTLY re-elect incompetent and obnoxious Authoritarian “Progressives”.

It will be interesting to see what constitutes a “resurgence of liberal policies”. Maybe more Marxist Authoritarianism? Maybe more crackdowns on 1st, 4th, and 2nd Amendment rights? Maybe more bans of commonplace items?

Wow those “Republicans” will be HORRIFIED at what happens to their Conservative Enclave!

Who writes this crap with a straight face?

A Right Denied, and Criminal Behavior

I renewed my Massachusetts permit last year and even with a 3 month head start, my permit still expired. (Thankfully a permit remains “Valid” for 90 days if there is a renewal in the system, so no laws were broken). Looks like GOAL is spearheading the fight!

A National Rifle Association affiliate says Massachusetts is “abusing” law-abiding citizens by delaying the issuance of firearm licenses beyond the time frame outlined by state law.

The Gun Owners Action League (GOAL), which represents 16,000 members in Massachusetts and is the official state affiliate of the NRA, reports that many people applying for licenses have been experiencing long delays.

GOAL Executive Director Jim Wallace said the average time for obtaining a license is currently six months. That leaves many Massachusetts residents waiting much longer than the state law requires.

According to state law, an applicant will be notified within 40 days of either approval or denial of the license.

Chapter 140, Section 131 of Massachusetts’ General Law states, “The licensing authority shall, within 40 days from the date of application, either approve the application and issue the license or deny the application and notify the applicant of the reason for such denial in writing; provided, however, that no such license shall be issued unless the colonel has certified, in writing, that the information available to him does not indicate that the possession of a firearm or large capacity firearm by the applicant would be in violation of state or federal law.”

Wallace said GOAL now has close to 1,000 reports of long delays by residents.

Now a permit in Massachusetts is not only for carry but to OWN firearms, ammunition, and chemical sprays. This is NOTHING shy of a taxation of an enumerated right. Further the law stipulates that the maximum waiting time is 40 days. This is being exceeded by nearly 600%! But what are you going to do? Call the cops on the cops?

Hopefully this will go to the courts because the Massachusetts permit system needs to go!

“Gun Death” Car Suicide

Cars are not only dangerous pieces of high-speed heavy metal and glass, but they are also toxic factories!!

The founder of an animal rescue organization in Ohio committed suicide, taking dozens of pets with her, the Moreland Hills Police Department told CNN.

Sandy Lertzman, 62, founder of the Animal Rights Foundation, was found dead November 4 inside her garage in a running car alongside 31 small rescue dogs, police said.

Investigators found prescription vials in the vehicle and a suicide note inside the house.

According to Sgt. Janet Boehler, a friend discovered Lertzman’s body. It is unclear how long Lertzman and the pets had been dead before they were found. Lertzman was last seen alive November 3.

I have no issue with suicide except for the selfish nature of it, and the pain it inflicts to those left behind. According to her organization website, she leaves behind a husband and son. Still it strikes me as strange that somebody who cares for dogs will include them in her very personal and permanent decision.

Still “Gun Death” zealots NEED to include suicides in their numbers because otherwise “Gun Death” isn’t all that big of a number. Still cars are such a readily accessible suicide method that common sense regulation should be considered.

Who am I kidding? Only “Gun Death” counts, so let anybody have a car and do as much damage as they want!

A Thought on the Small Penis Thing

I just realized this. Mark Ruffalo is not only a fantastic actor, but a totally off-the-chain moonbat who does wacky political stunts for various “Progressive” causes, like being anti-war so long as a Republican is in office, being a 9-11 truther, and of course lending his face to the Brady Campaign and parroting their tripe:

I realized that Mr. Ruffalo has done full-frontal nude scenes in some REALLY terrible movies. When I saw one of them, I was impressed he went along with it because the films didn’t NEED to show his hog, and some good camera work could have completed those scenes without making it look like censorship.

Also I’m always impressed when somebody who has a smaller penis than myself chooses to expose it on film. This is NOT me bragging, but just noting I’m happy with what I have, but I’m in no position to brag, and certainly my dong doesn’t deserve a star on the Hollywood walk of fame.

I really like Mark Ruffalo as an actor, and think he DOES deserve a star, but for his acting, not how he looks naked.

Still amusing given how much materiel Joe has for his Markley’s Law Monday, its interesting to see for a fact that at least one anti-gun Hollywood actor isn’t particularly well hung.

Oh, and while I can’t think of a scene where he shows his penis, there are some nude pictures of Brad Pitt that the paparazzi got from spying on him when he was dating Gwenneth Paltrow.

Brad has spoken out against gun control, and is a gun owner, and well, if you do some image searches you’ll see he has nothing to be ashamed of at what’s under his jeans.

Just a silly little thought exercise from a film buff who follows politics as well as celebrity nude scenes.

That Daniel Defense Ad

With some spot-on commentary by Colion Noir

Love the tag-line “No One Has the Right to Tell Me How to Defend them!”

Better yet, nobody who knows all they know about guns from Wikipedia, and doesn’t even have a grasp of the laws every lawful gun owner must adhere to has a right to say ANYTHING about guns.

“Progressive” Reading of Scripture

Zo covers it from the Christian side:

I’ll cover it from the secular stance. MAIG made up an anti-gun placement for Thankgiving that quotes Ronald Regan

But MAIG is is a “Progressive” Group, so they HATE Reagan, just like the “Progressives” hate conservative Christians. They pick-and-choose what they read, and how they interpret it and claim what they like is Holy and Sacred, and what they don’t like, is ignored.

“Gun Death” Mass Stabbing

Norway had one of the worst mass-shootings in history, still that’s a product of a land with massive gun control that empowers psychopaths. They don’t NEED a gun to do serious damage:

A knife-wielding man on Monday hijacked a bus in western Norway and killed three people on board, including the bus driver, the police said. The suspect, described as a man in his 50s, was arrested after the attack in Sogn and Fjordane County, the police said.

That would be a “Mass Shooting” if this had been a “Gun Death”. Still one can argue that in a gun control Utopia like Norway guns are hard to acquire, and the Norway shooter expended a LOT of effort to get the gun and magazines he used.

Meanwhile knives are EASY. What’s HARD is to have a good defensive tool when such a thing happens, leading to deaths like these, and empowerment of lunatics like this.

Don’t Be An Idiot

Be safe and SMART out there, people!

When I’m shooting with new shooters, or even experienced shooters I will NOT put a gun in their hands unless I KNOW they can handle it. There isn’t a shooter out there that I won’t make their first gun a .22 Rifle, or a .22 full-size revolver.

Still those guns are EASY, and we might quickly scale up to a rifle in 7.62×39 or .45 ACP, but only once I see their form is GOOD. Form is EVERYTHING, and good form means even a small person can handle a fairly powerful gun, but with crappy form even an all-steel .38 Revolver, or 9x19mm will hurt you.

Unfortunately in this case it killed somebody. It could also end up killing somebody else if you let a round go over the berm, or bounce one off the floor of an indoor range ceiling. Know how to shoot, and shoot well before you start teaching new shooters, and then work UP new shooters.

One reason why I have a LOT of different guns is I like teaching new shooters, and having lots of guns means you can have guns that will interest new shooters, but also all the proper guns to work up into guns that will give them what they want.

Yeah, if you want to shoot a full-house .44 Magnum on your first day of shooting, you CAN DO THAT! Just it will NOT be the first few guns you shoot, and it may be a bridge too far.
