OK I LIKE THIS!

I’m one of those dinosaurs who use a smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard. I like to touch-type on devices and I find soft-keyboard to be crap. Still the world is going the way of seamless tablets.

This could be the best of both worlds!

More here.

I currently use a Droid 4 Phone which is pretty nice, but its way thicker and bulkier than similar phones because of that QWERTY it has. With this new technology we can have both!

NEAT!

Morning Irony

So this insipid attempt to stoke the damp tinder of gun control.

I didn’t make it very far into the video, its vastly more lame than I could have thought.

Still over at ENDO Viktor made this comment:

Art Spiegelman? Maybe he forgot how the dogs defeat the cats in his graphic novel…

For those not in the know, Spiegelman made one of the more impressive graphic novels of my time. Maus, which is a graphic narrative of Spiegelman’s own father’s survival of the Nazi Holocaust.

The title simply means “Mice” in German, and it depicts the Jews as Mice, the Ethnic Pols as Pigs, the Nazis as cats, and allied forces as dogs.

It’s like Mr. Spiegelman is buying that whole “Progressive” troupe that’s being pushed that the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto would have been better off if they had simply cooperated with the Nazi forces.

Sick and sad. Also understandable that this is going nowhere.

Still it makes some pointy-headed “Intellectuals” FEEEEL better, and gives them something to brag about while they have lavish parties and talk about the plight of the poor.

“Gun Death” Stabbing

A Sad Story:

On Sunday, authorities confirmed she had been stabbed to death, her body discovered early Saturday morning on a path in a Maplewood city park….Preliminary autopsy results from the Ramsey County medical examiner’s office on Sunday indicate Hurd died from several stab wounds, said acting Maplewood Police Chief Dave Kvam.

Just a shame, but no guns used. Does that make you feel any better about it?

Well He Seems Qualified

ATF Director Nominee may have retaliated against Whistle blowers:

An independent government watchdog agency is investigating allegations that President Obama’s nominee to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives retaliated against employees for whistle-blowing, FoxNews.com has learned.

The allegations against B. Todd Jones, a Minnesota federal prosecutor who also is serving as acting director of the ATF while his nomination is pending, include claims that he mismanaged the prosecutor’s office and presided over a “climate of fear.” Specifically, he was accused of retaliating against whistle-blowing with “a suspension and a lowered performance appraisal.”

In a letter dated July 20, 2012 to the Office of Special Counsel, employees at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota first claimed that they were being mistreated and that the office had turned into a “hostile work environment.”

The letter, obtained by FoxNews.com, said Jones “instituted a climate of fear, has pushed employees out of the office, dismissed employees wrongly, violated the hiring practices of the EEOC and put in place an Orwellian style of management that continues to polarize the office.”

Given that part of the ATF Director’s job is to punish Whistle-Blowers who exposed Fast and Furious for the criminal activity it was, I think he is infinitely qualified for the job….unless you’re one of the idiots who thinks Fast and Furious was a “Botched Operation”…despite it doing everything it was supposed to do.

Good Luck With That!

Gabby Giffords going after Pro-Rights Senators:

The group co-founded by former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband is rolling out a series of radio ads starting Wednesday against Senate Minority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell and Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte, calling them out for voting against last week’s gun control legislation.

The ads, aimed at women, go up in Kentucky against McConnell and in New Hampshire against Ayotte and will saturate the airwaves over the next two weeks.

“The ads highlight McConnell and Ayotte’s putting loyalty to the special interest gun lobby in Washington instead of supporting wildly popular sensible policies that would keep their communities safer,” the group Americans for Responsible Solutions said in a statement to FoxNews.com. “In Kentucky, 82 percent of people support background checks; in New Hampshire, 89 percent of residents support them.”

This “Support” crap is really nonsense, as people’s “Support” for a law that isn’t written and has no specifics is different from an actual written law.

On the surface, the poll released by The Washington Post and Pew Research Center made no sense. Only 47 percent of respondents said they were “disappointed” or “angry” that the Senate last week failed to advance a bill to expand background checks to gun shows and online sales.

That article I think misses the point I’ve generally seen with all legislative polls. People support vague ideas, but can be turned by bad bill drafting. After Sandy Hook allegedly there was support for a renewed “Assault Weapons Ban”….but as soon as a bill was introduced it died in committee and there was ZERO public support.

I’d say one reason is in both bills people quickly realized how punitive it would be to most individuals, and another reason is with nebulous ideas, you can pool a lot of people together. I’ve heard antis grouse that the background check bill wasn’t enough, while many have said it was too strict, and yet to the general idea both people would be “Supportive”.

Either way, In think former Senator Giffords will quickly see how well corrupt carpet baggers do when they attempt to buy political favor. Just ask Mikey Bloomberg!

“Gun Death” Multiple Tools

One is enough

A 36-year-old man has been convicted of helping kill another man with a hammer, sword and bayonet in Ramsey County.

And why?

According to testimony, Valdez, a methamphetamine dealer, and two others went to Andrew Braun’s home in St. Paul to collect a drug debt on March 19.

Hey if only we made guns as illegal as Meth, then Meth dealers wouldn’t kill people with….who am I trying to fool here????

Bunny Hunt!

I saw Ted shooting with his arrow gun, and I thought it was a gimmick.

Turns out the damn thing has its use:

Gory unlisted video here:

I must say, I like seeing the graphic one, not because I’m a sick bastard, but because I’m a biologist and I like seeing how things work. Very neat to see this odd arrow gun at work!
