Looks like, as I predicted the XTP bullet performed identically to the initial test, even with the variables of the smaller gun, and lack of fabric penetration removed.
The modern hollow points made by the big American gun makers work and work well. As a handloader I only carry factory ammo for defensive uses, and save the home-rolled stuff for practice. I could g33k out and load my carry cartridges one-at-a-time on a single-stage press, and weigh each charge and mic each finished cartridge, and I still don’t think I could compete with the quality control of the big ammo makers, and I CERTAINLY can’t compete with their terminal ballistics testing where the load and bullet are tailored for optimal performance.
I am not very concerned about my loads landing me in trouble in court…I AM concerned about my loads just not being as good as the factory products.
My life is worth the extra cost!
My wife took a class on Buddhism in college, and I was amused by the fact that Buddhists sometimes make prayer wheels out of microfilm. My crude understanding is prayer wheels are an automated form of prayer, and by using more modern technology it allows for smaller more complex prayers being placed in the wheel than could be carved or otherwise crafted with hand tools. Also the above wiki-link talks about web-based prayer wheels. Why not?
Heck during the morning news in Maine there was a segment from the “First Radio Parish Church of America”, while not very important to me personally, I fully understand the reason. Why be FORCED to go to church to hear a sermon when it can be broadcast on TV or Radio? Sure GOING to Church has its own benefits, but these broadcasts were done EVERY DAY. I think even people without faith can see the utility of that.

Singh, a practicing Sikh and Florida-based law clerk who carries a concealed handgun for protection, told FoxNews.com.
Sikhs are required to carry a weapon. As most religious tenants they can become ornate and more ceremonial over time, but there was a reason why a fighting knife was prescribed by teachers of Sikhism. Further the documented attacks are a sad truth, if you’re brown, have a beard, and wear a turban, evil racists (who by nature are stupid and ignorant) might think you’re a Muslim Extremist. Hell even that is too specific, as racists are known to attack ANYTHING that doesn’t look like them.
Then there’s this:

I must say I’m not very impressed with these Sikhs willing to stand behind Bloomberg. They should know of the history of their people in Pakistan where the Muslim government doesn’t look highly on non-Muslims, and of course the Mumbai Massacre where both the police and people were unable to fight back against a small number of heavily armed terrorists.
The laws have been PROVEN not to stop this, and even in this specific temple attack, I doubt any laws Bloomie might propose would do anything to have stopped this racist nut from doing what he did. He just want to CON people into THINKING his proposals will work.
Sikhs, like the American gun owner don’t carry weapons for violence but for peace, but we all know that peace takes two willing parties, and war and violence only takes one. So weapons can STOP violence, as well as persuade violent people into agreeing (begrudgingly) into participating in peace.
So carry your Kirpan, but also carry a gun. Its the right thing to do.
Oh and also in writing this I got to reading about the “Five Ks”. One is the Kirpan mentioned above. Two others are Kesh (long hair and beards) and Kacchera which are undergarments for modesty. The other two are the Kangha and the Kara. The Kangha is a comb which is just a good idea if you have long hair, but I was surprised to see that the Kara bracelet also has some uses for defense and battle.
I’m reading NOTHING that says these people should have ANY issues with carrying personal arms. Let’s hope they do, they have a need for it!
A former Marine involuntarily detained for psychiatric evaluation for posting strident anti-government messages on Facebook has received an outpouring of support from people who say authorities are trampling on his First Amendment rights.
Brandon J. Raub, 26, has been in custody since FBI, Secret Service agents and police in Virginia’s Chesterfield County questioned him Thursday evening about what they said were ominous posts talking about a coming revolution. In one message earlier this month according to authorities, Raub wrote: “Sharpen my axe; I’m here to sever heads.”
Police — acting under a state law that allows emergency, temporary psychiatric commitments upon the recommendation of a mental health professional — took Raub to the John Randolph Medical Center in Hopewell. He was not charged with any crime.
He didn’t harm anybody, and didn’t direct threats at any individual. He was talking politics, and support his views or not, that’s what the 1st Amendment is all about. And he’s now in government custody.
This reminds me of my statements about the Ruby Ridge Massacre: “They don’t sound so crazy when the government executed their family.” Given that he’s been detained, maybe he’s dead-on right!

Now first to come to a VERY brief defense of Aikin. I suspect what he was citing was doctors noting that there are certain things that increase female fertility. Without getting too pornographic, if a woman is aroused and ready for sex the vaginal interface is both wet and of a good pH for sperm transmission, and the longer that sperm stays within her the better chance of conception.
Essentially Aikin was doing what all politicians do: Talk to experts about things they know nothing about, and then badly repeat what they hear with a political spin.
Still again he’s dead wrong. I think we all know a female or two who were able to conceive with relative ease, or people who had unwanted or unplanned pregnancy. I know several women who were raped (I wish I knew none), but as far as I know none of them were impregnated, tho some of them may have had prophylactic medicines administered after the crime. Also rape pregnancies are fairly rare, and that MIGHT have been a better angle for Aikin.
Still in the end, he stepped on his dick and made a HUGE stink. Every damn conservative on the planet agrees with that and have asked him to step down and find something better to do with his time than lose an election, which is assured at this point. He’s said “NO I’MMA GONNA RUN!!11!!”, which shows that he’s just as arrogant as he is stupid, and he has armfuls of both.
And the Media is going to bury any Republican admonishments so they can claim we’re all as tin-eared on rape as he is. LAME!

Well said. I will add that I’m 100% treating Marijuana as a medical drug, I just think it should be 100% legal for all who can legally buy cigarettes or alcohol.
Also while legal cannabis will indeed be a tax boon two fold. #1. People will prefer legal weed over the criminal stuff and #2: So much public money is wasted on chasing after pot smokers, growers, and smugglers.
Still be careful with taxing it, as if the legal stuff is SO much more expensive than the illegal stuff people will just continue to buy it on the black market, much like states who heavily tax cigarettes simply buy them illegally.
I personally think the push back against legalizing the stuff is the vestige of the baby boomer population. They may have smoked a TON of the stuff in the 60s, but they sure don’t want their kids or grand kids doing it….because that’s totally different!
