I’m so deeply amused by this chat between Christina and her very cool daughter Silver (who is Awesome BTW! 😉 )
Go click over to Christina’s blog if you got some time to kill and are interested in hearing some very cool electronica. I too rather love me some DeadMau5 and Daft Punk, but my favorite Genre of Electronic is Trance Music. Not as good to dance to, which happens to be a selling point because I hate to dance, and dancing distracts me from the music. But the transitions and movements, as well as often the deep delving into exotic synthetic sound just blows my mind. I thought I’d drop this song from my favorite Electronic group: Infected Mushroom!
BTW there’s also this cool video of them doing it live for Israeli TV, I find it quite fascinating.
Enjoy!
I think Daft Punk was the first electronica that I ever listened to–but one day Robb Allen had some post up with some Drum and Bass music, which got me to make a Pandora Station, which got me to find more music, which got me into a never ending spiral of musical discovery…
I’d have to say that at this point in time, the two bands that I listen to the most are Infected Mushroom and Bonobo, which are about as far apart stylistically as can be, yet still somehow both qualify as some sort of electronic music.
Daft Punk is insanely popular, and thankfully quite talented. Its always good for a genre to have a group everybody has heard of that is legitimately talented, rather than the latest Euro-Trash that’s here today and replaced by something just as unimaginative tomorrow.
And the robot costumes are a nerd’s dream!
Silver calls ‘Tron Legacy’ “the awesome Daft Punk music video!”
She totally cracks me up.
She needs to be cautious with her military-grade awesome. With great awesome comes great responsibility! 🙂
