Creepy Tale

A strange Tale of violence, sex and greed. But not one bit of Gun Death.

Neff and Rivera met through an ad listed in the adult services category of the classifieds website Craigslist. Friends say they believe the relationship began in July 2008.

On December 3, 2008, authorities say the two men got into an altercation that turned violent, and Rivera allegedly strangled Neff.

Afterward, the escort returned to Neff’s Bay Point townhouse to retrieve several items including a gold-plated Nagahara flute worth $23,000 and set the house on fire.

A very bizarre tale, but those who seem concerned about tools used in violence would note that the murder weapons appear to be a pair of hands. They must not be concerned about this…

So now I (somewhat unfourtunately) know the sound of the song of your people, but what the heck does a “gold-plated Nagahara flute worth $23,000” sound like?

    Should you upgrade your cockflute?

Prolly not a whole lot different unless you REALLY know your flutes. In my band days we had some SERIOUS hardware (not in the $23,000 range, but certainly in the $2,300 and up) come out of band lockers, and overall I didn’t really hear much of a difference, except that the people with the EXPENSIVE horns tended to be more serious players anyway. (Same could be said about the $3,000 custom 1911s….do they run better than a well-made mass-production gun? Likely not in any practical shooting environment….but if you see somebody with a $3000 slab-side, you can bet they take 1911 shooting pretty seriously)

For me, the best sounding horns were some of the old pre-war tubas. The brass was heavier then, generally the wheels of time left them tarnished, dented, and stinking of copper oxide, but DAMN could you fill a room with that sound from those heavy-walled pipes!

Could be gold has better sound conduction because of density, but I’d imagine 90% of that price is looks and status.

Ah. It’s the sound of money being flushed down the drain!
