Former Klansman, Passed

Robert C. Byrd, , a conservative West Virginia Democrat who became the longest-serving member of Congress in history and used his masterful knowledge of the institution to shape the federal budget, protect the procedural rules of the Senate and, above all else, tend to the interests of his state, died at 3 a.m. Monday at Inova Fairfax Hospital, his office said.

Blah Blah Blah, about speaking ill of the dead, I personally don’t follow that. If you can’t speak ill of those who deserve it, you can’t speak well of those who lived a good life.

Senator Byrd has not been fit to represent his state in a long time, and his horrible racist past has been ignored by the Democrats who would best like to forget that they were the party that revolted over slavery (and Republicans rose to power over advocating abolition of slavery) and they are the party that formed the Klan when they lost the war and were concerned about freed blacks getting out of their place.

You won’t be missed Senator, and like your Beloved West Virginia, I hope there are a few bridges and roads named after you where you are now.
