A gang in Burundi murdered a 14-year-old boy and chopped off his limbs, the latest in a series of ritual killings of albinos in the small central African state, an official said Saturday….About 14 albinos have been killed in Burundi since 2008, when a wave of albino murders hit the country. Their body parts are sold to witch doctors who use them to concoct wealth-enhancing charms.
Last year, eight suspects were sentenced to prison terms of between a year and life for murdering albinos.
Yikes, 14 deaths in 4 years doesn’t seem like a lot until you consider how common human Albinos are….
Also “between a year and life” wow that’s a monster spread there, and the top limit doesn’t sound too harsh….the bottom is a travesty!
Note the lack of Firearms used, I believe Burundi has strict gun control laws, which of course prevent crime!
