Tuesday, almost 18 months after Nicholas’ death, the Dakota County Attorney charged Hokanson with second-degree manslaughter and two counts of child neglect, all for failing to seek medical care for her obviously ill son….The boy’s death, medical examiners say, was the result of blunt force trauma, bleeding on the brain and a fractured back, which caused his lungs to fill with fluid.
