Appears Don’t Ask Don’t tell will hit the shitcan Tomorrow morning. I think that’s great, but I don’t trust Obama to do the right thing when it comes to gays, so I’ll believe it when I see it.
Also we’ve been at war with Pakistan since shortly after Obama took office. The media and the anti-war people don’t seem to notice (seems they only hate war when the other guy is waging it). I guess we want to double-down and have a full-on land-war in Pakistan. Let’s see if the anti-war weepers notice…
Neither do I. Oh, I believe he’ll sign it tomorrow – it’s too late to do anything else. But, I also believe that he’ll drag out the “certification” and phase-in processes that the bill requires to as close to the 2012 elections as he can manage, to get the most benefit out of it – so I don’t expect any truly effective policy changes to come into play until at least mid-2012. Any later than that, and delaying it starts to be a liability to his re-election campaign.
