Range Reports

Got a spare moment this morning and took some guns to the range.

Brought my faves, as well as the Jennings. Happened to be all guns have been tinkered with. The 1911 got a new firing pin spring (I thought the Wolf recoil spring I recently bought was a “kit” so I bought one from my recent order from Midway. The S&W617 evedently got shot to death by me (I have no idea of the round count, but it was a LOT, and I’m not the original owner) and S&W replaced the Cylinder, star, and timing pawl. You’ll note there isn’t a drag mark on the wheel in the picture. Well I added a faint one. And the Jennings had me chasing all the major springs around the armory the last time I cleaned it, so I thought I’d feed it a little.

All guns worked well…except the Jennings…but its supposed to do that!

Actually the 617 felt better than ever, I wonder if the geeks over at S&W cleaned the lockwork when they took off the side plate.

I shot like shit! It had been over a month since I’d last pulled a trigger and the results showed on page. I was pulling low with the 1911 (I didn’t think I was slapping the trigger) and the 617 was just throwing a MUCH bigger group than I prefer.

Oh well, I need to shoot more, I guess! Still had fun!
