We’ve all heard of California’s ban on open carry. (extra bonus points for using the stock footage of the man who was carrying in Washington state where you can openly carry LOADED guns, unlike California. Also I love how THAT shot gets used, but never the shot of the same man in Camo with a Colt Commander in a Bianchi retention holster pushing his daughter in a pink stroller. Camo, Love Handles, and guns are scary…but pushing a stroller is something HUMANS would do, don’t show that! Also you can’t run from an attacker when you have a child in a stroller, and you can’t “Just give them what they want” if what they want is your young daughter)
Now they’re planning on a long gun registry.
Can you name an open carry problem in California? Hey I’ll make it easy, name a problem from somebody open carrying in the whole country!
How about a crime solved by a gun registry in this country?

Given that these things are non-issues, do you think that’s wise for a state that is totally broke to do?

California is fast turning into Canada. I mean, their long gun registry has worked SO well for them, right?
Hopefully Canada can repeal that nonsense. It seems the people have started to see past the lies.

If their balky waste of money creates one new government job or prevents one person from bearing an arm then it’s done it’s job.

A long gun registry now? I’m SO glad I escaped that state! California does everything it can to make law abiding gun owners feel like criminals, and actually BECOME criminals if you can’t navigate their many and varied gun laws. And all so people can FEEL safer without having to do a thing themselves to actually make themselves safer.
That’s the whole point! We’re winning because we have a gun culture. You won’t see any massive gun bans in any area that doesn’t. Canada has a strong gun culture, but its more the hunters, sportsman, and the farmers, rather than the defensive carry culture.
While there are people who enjoy shooting a wide range of guns, from wood-stock duck and Deer guns, to modern semi-autos with big magazines, to handguns, and people who know they are who they should depend on for their safety, and carrying a handgun either concealed or openly is probably the best way to do that, bans will NEVER fly.
I hate to say it but most Americans don’t give a shit about rights they don’t use. People won’t like police searching their car on a traffic violation, or searching their home or property without a warrant…but they have no problem with the TSA taking naked pictures of them and cupping their nuts. Same with gun rights. People who don’t own guns don’t care, and consider owning a CAR more of a right than owning and carrying a gun.
The more hoops you are forced to jump through, the less gun owners you have. Mass has a bunch of gun freaks like Jay and I who have multiple safes stacked high and deep with guns and ammo, but we don’t have the fair weather gun owner who might have one pistol and one shotgun, especially the people who might have a Mossberg 500 and a Glock, or a RIA 1911 or some other well-priced gun, because our $100 permit costs, plus all the safety courses quickly eclipse the value of their guns. because of that people just don’t buy guns, or sell off their collection to nuts like us.
Its the only way they have a hope of winning.
