Carry Your Guns: Not Just For People

I always like to point out stories like this because while we talk a lot about keeping and bearing arms to protect against violent people. We shoot on human silhouette targets and ones with armed attackers on them.

That’s not foolishness, as humans are the most dangerous predator against other humans…but they aren’t the ONLY predators.

A South Seattle man fatally shot a pit bull late Monday after it attacked another dog…“The woman, her husband and others made numerous attempts to stop the attack using rocks and other yard implements to no avail,” Detective Jeff Kappel said in a statement. “With the boxer bleeding and obviously injured and fearing his wife was about to be attacked by the pit bull, the woman’s husband retrieved a handgun and shot the pitbull once, fatally wounding it and ending its attack.”

Good move. One thing about animals is they are NOT people so there is more leeway in the law. Also while violent criminals are a very unpredictable lot, violent animals are vastly more unpredictable, and they don’t understand that when a guy pulls a gun they need to straighten up and fly right to take a dirt nap.

Again carry your guns, the world isn’t a safe place, and weather you live in the country or the big city, 4 legged predators are always a danger.
