Counter-Point

I read it first here. Michele Bachmann signing some goofy pledge that bans porn. We can’t have that! I guess the counter point is she wants to ban “Illegal Porn”…which is kinda banned anyway.

Dunno seems like yet another goofy pledge that politicians sign and don’t take much interest in, and the idiots that take these pledges seriously get asshurt when their pet Solon ignores the pledge.

I’ll chalk this one up as a Wash. I like Bachmann a bit more than Sarah Palin, and certainly would support her over RINOs like Romney (who I will support Obama over) or say Jon Huntsman, whom the only think I know about him is he’s a RINO, and Newsweek and Time thinks he’s the cat’s pajamas, and that’s enough for me to know he’s poison for America.

Honestly the 2012 election is shaping up to be the biggest piece of shit, and I’m not looking forward to it.

You would seriously vote for Romney over Obama? Not me. The pres isnt the only one elected – also all the Holders, the Clintons, and other bureaucrats. Not to mention supreme court judges.

As for Bachman… I think it highlights the fact that a conservative isn’t necessarily a constitutionalist, so long as the rules are being violated inthe name of their petproject. (eg porn bans, flag burning bans, the patriot act, etc)

I won’t vote for Obama. If Romney is the other option I’ll toss my vote to whoever is running as a 3rd party, and know EXACTLY what I’m voting for.

I do share your frustrations; that has been my voting record for my entire adult life, hate the Republican for not being conservative enough so I throw my vote away on the Libertarian. Yes, I sleep better knowing I held better to my beliefs, but what did it get me?

Well, what did it get Perot supporters? Would they have been happier with Clinton or would they have been happier with HW Bush?

Or, to put it another way, are there any hard core liberal Obama supporters out there who would have voted third party if H. Clinton would have won the nomination? Doubt it.

The right wing’s factionalism may be a mark of honor to some, but strategically it is a weak point.

Or the Ralph Nader voters who got 8 years of George W. Bush. How’d that work out.

I know that if I vote 3rd Party I’m essentially voting for the guy I like the least. I’ll be comfortable to do it tho, with this crop of retards!

I read the pledge on John Lott’s website. If we are talking about the same pledge, ‘family values’ is used in about the same way as ‘sensible gun restrictions’. “Marriage is great, gays don’t deserve any”, lumping porn and promiscuity in with sexual slavery, human trafficking and infanticide and similar nonsense.

I wasn’t sure about her in the first place (mostly because I don’t know that much about her), but that pledge lost her any support I might have given. It’s basically a pledge to ignore the Constitution in favour of the organization’s agenda, and to appoint others who will also ignore the Constitution in favour of the organization’s agenda. We’ve had more than enough of that.

Palin at least has proven through her actions that she will hold the Constitution and the law above her personal beliefs.
