Don’t Feed the Trout

We talked about it on Vicious Circle, This was what I saw at Newbius and Zercool’s hotel Atrium.

Now this was on a Koi pond!

I’m sorry, but if you can’t tell the difference between a Carp and a Salmonid, maybe you should leave the fishponds to the professionals.

I seriously suspect they attempted a trout pond, and failed, and moved to Koi which are far more colorful, and easier to care for, and much more tolerant to water conditions. (Also less delicious, which I wonder if that was a problem too)

The Koi were extra friendly and came right up to me when I put my hand in the pond. There you have it folks, the whole reason why I went to college for Marine Biology and made my living, as well as risked my life in that field was because I like to pat the fishies!

I didn’t get a picture of the Koi, as by the time we left the hotel the atrium lights were off, and when I first arrived I was having some abdominal distress.

I think their web site also mentions trout *and* koi.

Trout tend to be more camouflaged than koi, though. Trout Team Ten was watching you from the edges of the pool, silent death floating gently and you never knew it…

Don’t lie Weer’d, you did more than just “pat” the fishies…

you’re the *only* person i’ve ever seen go up to a fish pond to pet the fishies. most people feed them, or look at them…but you want to pet them.

    silly Weerdy. πŸ˜›

Well, it didn’t say don’t pet the carp.
