So the Patio project is shaping up, but man its becoming a slog. Everything looks top-notch so far, but we’ve had some troubles with the contractor, and some setbacks with the electrical systems that run through the back yard. Hopefully it’ll all shape up, but man its breaking our balls every step of the way.
Like all home improvement projects, its a pain, and we’ll be glad when its done (hopefully by Friday evening) and with a little luck it will be all worth it.
The painters are here EARLY this AM, after a week of prep and hole-filling. The baseboards and hallway and bedroom are going to be fresh, and I woke up feeling like Jesus – that is, like someone drove a freaking spike into my shoulders…
Too much overhead over-arm mud-and-texture work. A lot of prep to the bedroom not shown in pics because the light was unflattering. 😉
So you’re doing the work yourself?
Always better than having strangers in your home. I HATE that.
I yam Teh Stimuluzses! I took the assistant role to an out-of-work gun-club Union carpenter buddy who’s got a handy DeWalt miter saw – we did the baseboard and door-casings, I did the mud and texture myself. I’m ok with the Painters, there were here before and I know them and they have the equipment that would take me weeks to do myself.
in the future if you’re looking for a really great contractor, I can make a great recommendation…
he finished our addition on time and on budget, only day they missed was the day the owner/contractor buried his Dad after a lengthy illness.
We may have to take you up on that.
