“Gun Death” a Lost Father

Alpheus sent me a link to this blog post discussing the death of his father.

Two weeks ago today, my father passed away. He fell down a stairway while trying to bring his laundry up the stairs, and hit his head on the landing below. About four years ago, my dad had a stroke, and so he was on blood thinners, to prevent other strokes. Because of those blood thinners, surgeons were unable to control the bleeding in his brain, and he was declared brain dead the next day.

That’s just awful, and my heart goes out to you man. An Ex Girlfriend of mine lost her father in a similar way. He was cleaning gutters on a ladder and fell and hit his head.

I appreciate you sharing your painful story with the world, and know that things will get better, but also will never be quite the same. You and your family are in our thoughts.

Alpheus, also mentioned that falling down the stairs does indeed count as a “Gun Death?” you see if his father had had a negligent discharge rather than falling while trying to negotiate stairs with a load of laundry that would be a “Gun Death” and the anti-rights jerks would wallow in that blood. I guess Alpheus can take some comfort that his father’s blood will be safe from the feet of the pro-ignorance, anti-freedom crowd.
