“Gun Death” Bar Fight

They say we shouldn’t allow guns in bars because of the bad things that could happen.

Kelley Sharp, the bar’s owner, said the stabbing occurred in the parking lot and involved three strangers who came in and “were causing fights” with the bar’s regulars. The bartender kicked out the three men, he said. Foster then was fatally stabbed. Foster, he said, was a “good patron” who helped protect the bar when necessary.

Good thing nobody had a gun, otherwise a “Gun Death” might have occurred, and of course we know for those who hate freedom “Gun Death” is the only death that counts.

You’re closer to the story, what are your thoughts? Was it really a shitty bucket-of-blood bar that deserved the doors to be shuttered, or is this the cops just closing down a bar instead of doing something.

Portland Maine has a LOT of bars all close together on the waterfront. In the summer the police foot patrols were THICK…and as soon as the sun goes down the cops went home. With no cops and lots of drunks the problems happen. There were several stabbings, lots of fights, and lots of pissed off shop owners who discovered puke on their sidewalks and stoops.

What did the cops do? Seized liquor licenses! Bullshit! Get some damn cops on the street or understand you’re going to get what you pay for, don’t shut down bars that are simply doing their job which is slinging drinks, because one out of a thousand people can’t behave themselves after a few pops!

Chaska is suburbia is a unique town and this seems so unusual. It is far enough away from the Mpls/St Paul inner city bullshit…
What it seems to me is “This cannot happen in our nice “quaint” little “village” so……lets shut them down, thats the way to deal with it..
