“Gun Death” Dangerous Pet

The Pits of Negligence is bottomless. There is nothing that will stop those so reckless from eventually killing.

A Florida couple is on trial for murder after police say their pet snake killed their two-year-old daughter.

What laws could have stopped this?

Prosecutors say the couple didn’t have a license to own an exotic snake, they both tested positive for drug use and that the snake had escaped from the cage before. That’s why they decided to file murder charges for the first time ever in a case like this.

I guess you need a permit to own a dangerous snake like this, but they didn’t have one. Also using drugs is illegal. They also got a good warning when this beast escaped before. Stacks and stacks of negligence, but one thing you won’t find is “Gun Death”. You see if Mom and Dad had left a loaded pistol on the coffee table as they shot off and drifted off with Morpheus and the little girl had managed to discharge the firearm and kill herself now THAT would be a relevant story, even tho these people probably would be about as legal at owning a firearm as they were about owning a snake.

But somehow “Gun Death” is relevant, but when the Junkies let a snake kill a little girl its just a freak accident.

Its the people not the tools.

Stunning new development in TV news. (I don’t watch, but I hear it in the other room.) Another child accidentally shoots his brother. News teaser: gun safety tips, NOT “community activists” demanding stricter gun laws. Interesting.

Isn’t it strange that this is their second encounter with the Law regarding the snake, and I’m sure there were multiple Drug Offenses on their record. Yet if they had ONE AD while playing with a Pistol and went to court over it, would they probably lose their RKBA with a Felony Conviction? How about we keep things Fair and Balanced? What ever the Penalties for so-called “Gun Crimes”, the same standard is used for all other violations of the Law?

But gunz is different! They’re black and scary! We must outlaw all icky things.

Didn’t know a license needed for a (animate)python, but I have heard they’ve got a license system for people who want to keep a venomous snake. Why any sane human being not a herpetologist would WANT to keep a friggin’ mamba or something I don’t know, but you can qualify for a permit!
