“Gun Death” Gas

This one has no death, but its pretty scary with its implications.

An Austin man tried to kill his mother by flooding her East Austin home with natural gas, according to an arrest affidavit.

Looks like Mom smelled gas and got to safety before harm came to her. Now the gas alone can be dangerous. Last year somebody died going into their flooded basement. The water had snuffed the furnace pilot light and the basement was filled with gas. The person lost consciousness and either suffocated on the gas or the water.

Of course if the gas is exposed to spark or flame the results can be not only disastrous to the occupants of the house, but the whole neighborhood.

Yeah, but no guns! So why worry?

never gotten so bad I’ve been accused of attempted murder… :-)” Well played, bud! 😀

In my hometown. some guy tried to commit suicide by filling his house with gas. Quite a common method in the UK.

Just like Fight Club, the right fuel-air mixture greeted a spark somewhere. Instead of a concrete condo, the wood framed house was leveled and his insurance company paid to replace windows for his entire neighborhood.

    He survived.

There’s a photo floating around of a departed housewife circa ~1950s. Just search, I’d link it here if I could get more information on the woman to give the proper respect to her death. But her head is in her gas oven, and she’s looked better.

Its enough of a cliche that people still mention it.
