Neat Observation

We’re heading home and listening to ACE Podcasts and I asked the wife to delete the old Adam Carolla show and put on a Larry Miller show. She did and went back to reading C-Net reviews on ebook readers. (She’s getting a Kindle BTW).

Now before her Epilepsy surgery (and before she even had her first seizure) these acts would have made her VERY motion sick (and if you’re stuck in a car with her it makes for very unpleasant company) so I guess the surgery removed the motion sickness part of her brain too.

(I suspect that part is the right hipocampus)

Neat!

  1. I told this to my wife and she said, “I’m happy for them, but I’m not getting brain surgery to get rid of my motion sickness.”

    Damn.

    Excellent news!

And good choice on the Kindle. I didn’t think I’d like a “fake book,” but my mom gave me one for my birthday and I’m enjoying it immensely. I am also impressed with Amazon’s customer service. It didn’t break or anything, but I accidentally downloaded the wrong book, and they refunded it nearly immediately. I also like their web browsing feature on the thing and emailed them with general feedback. They replied within the hour… the battery life is pretty damn good too.

I can’t say enough good stuff about the thing I figured I’d have no use for. 🙂 I hope the Mrs. loves hers!

Get the lighted cover! Yeah, It’s a big chunk of change for a cover. The light works very well and the leech-from-Kindle-battery clips work better than anything else. I haven’t seen a cover+light that would cost less together, And there’s not much that could be improved upon anyways.
