Oh you BASTARD!

So when I went to bed last night it was snowing. It was big wet flakes and we haven’t even had a frost yet so the ground is still very warm so I didn’t put much stock in it.

I was partway right. Now I’m going out in the cold snow-free ground to scrape the sheet of ice off my truck!

The news is already calling for more snow. I suspect I’ll be cursing Al Gore and East Anglia University a lot this winter.

Oh and BTW the stargazers and meteorologists say “Winter” starts on December 22 this year.

FUCK YOU! If I’m scraping my car, shoveling my driveway and freezing my ass off the word I have for that is “Winter”

Odd is none of the trees around the house have dropped all their leaves yet. I’m wondering if Fall is just going to phone it in this year and let us pick the rotting leaves up when the snow banks melt.

This is all so depressing.

Guess this isn’t a good time to tell you it was 83 degrees and clear blue skies in San Diego yesterday.

More of the same is expected today.

Good thing you can throw a snow/ice ball cross country, eh.

Fuck you and your heroic well-adjusted family! 😉

I saw why you’re out that way. You and the Mrs. deserve the good weather for raising such offspring for us to all be proud of!

      Enjoy your time out there!

I’ve never understood why the solstices and equinoxes marked the start points of seasons and not the midpoints.

Reminds me of Montana a couple years ago where if dropped down to -32 for a couple days about this time of the year. The poor trees had dead leaves on them for the next year and a half. And it was just depressing to see them every day, reminding you that fall was completely sidestepped.

    • Weerd Beard says:

at -30/-40 you can blow soap bubbles and watch them freeze in the air and crumple like cellophane. So at least there’s that.

Never seen the dead leaves hanging on the trees, but I wonder if I’ll be seeing it this year.

The other fun thing you can do is pour boiling water out of a 3rd story dorm window and watch it all turn to steam before it hits the ground. And then wait to see if anyone called the fire department because the dorm is up on top of a hill and visible to the entire town.

We got about 1″ here last night, and it is STILL. HERE. Grumpy. 40 degrees doth not snowmelt make when it’s all shady… My outdoor annual plants finally said ‘ok, we give up’ this morning. Not ready for the white crap yet.

    • Weerd Beard says:

      SUUUCK!

      How you feeling, BTW?

      • Gen says:

Oh, I’ve been better… 🙂 But not too bad.

Going to assume you’ve heard from somewhere what I did to myself… Broken arm is healing. Motorcycle is still very broken. Not sure what I’m gonna do with it yet. At least it was the end of the riding season.

Other than that, doing pretty well. 🙂
