Product Review: Stonewall Kitchen

Growing up in Maine, and having fine tastes, one must know about Stonewall kitchen.

Now some products I’ve had and LOVED are things like their Wasabi Mustard, their Mustard Pretzel Dip, Their roasted Garlic and Onion Jam is to DIE FOR! For more traditional tastes their Blue berry jam, or Strawberry Peach Jam, really good stuff.

But I must say…their Blue Cheese and Herb Mustard, I cannot recommend. They went a little crazy with the Penicillium-flavor. I just had a sandwich made with the mustard for lunch, and if I hadn’t JUST opened the loaf of bread I used, and eaten a piece of cheese while making the sandwich, I’d have SWORN some of my ingredients were moldy.

After I finished dinner I ate a spoonful of mustard….nope, it tastes like mustard on moldy bread. NASTY. It went in the trash.

For a company that really makes some odd stuff, they really have a good batting average. But I’m a bit surprised they screwed up blue cheese mustard.
