Quote of the Day: Tam

From Tam, seen at Uncle’s

We’ve had a hundred years of busybodies like you trying to save us from drug-crazed Negroes and guitar-strumming smelly hippies, and I don’t see that it’s done a damn thing except fill the jails with citizens and the phone books with lawyers, so how about you just piss off?

Well said, Tam! Weather it be “Reefer Madness” or Four Loko, or Heroin, or Flavored Cigarettes, the world is filled with puritanical busybodies who are claiming the downfall of society by some such device that will destroy self-control and free will in even the most chaste man and woman.

Frankly these people are afraid of the dark and have no right to be out on their own without supervision, let alone tell us how to live our lives.

Now I will admit that legalizing heroin would cause a load of problems to US Society. What I will not admit is that these problems would be WORSE than the “War on Drugs”. I won’t admit this because I’m not a liar!

(BTW how about these “Quotes of the Day” I don’t do them every day, and the days I do, I often have more than one. Pretty silly, huh?)

Hey, nowhere does it say “one quote of the day a day only.”

Truth is that far more people have been injured and killed by the war on drugs than by the drugs themselves.
We all saw how the volstead act worked with alcohol, making rich men out of the likes of Al Capone, and taking the manufacture, distribution, and sales of alcohol out of the hands of legitimate business and placing it in the hands of thugs.
I have never used “illegal” drugs, and at my age (66) never will, however it is not the function of government to say I can’t.
These so called illegal drugs can literally be grown and produced at the cost of potatos or corn, and thereby eliminate the motive for commiting serious crimes to obtain the money needed to purchase them. People should not be protected from themselves and this type of motive can and has been used to pass many restrictive laws which has clogged our legal system and prisons to no purpose.
I realise it may sound heartless, but if some jerk wants to put poison in his/her body that is their problem.
What about our children?? Easy answer, no money in being a drug dealer, no drug dealer. These dealers that are now in business are the major source for the drugs our children get and although we will never stop children from getting drugs, cigarettes, or booze, we can certainly decrease its use by controlling the distribution and sales.
Politicans should love this because it will provide more income in the form of taxes so they can waste even more money.

That’s why I don’t call mine the quote of the day. They’re quotes of the indeterminate time interval.

I can post them as frequently (or, more likely, infrequently) as I like!
