Well it was a Long Night

I think the total was 6 seizures last night. Needless to say the Mrs. is feeling VERY sore and tired (having all your muscles tense and spasm all at once is like the worlds nastiest Pilates class) Thankfully no more tongue chomping.

Talked to the doctor at about 1:30am (she sounded fresh as a daisy, dunno if she was up doing work or if she’s a good faker) and she recommended a further increase on the anti-convulsants which we administered (and it was a pain in the ass as of this time she could barely keep her eyes open and wasn’t really understanding what was happening). She had one last one at about 2am, and then the meds must have reached a therapeutic dose because she fell asleep and that was that.

I watched her for close to another hour, my mind twisted with sleep and adrenaline, just waiting for the next wild ride.

I’ll definitely need to catch a nap this afternoon. I think we’re out of the woods for now.

Appointment with the Doctor on Tuesday where we’ll talk some more about this and how we’ll go forward.

wow.. sorry to hear.. that does make for a like night. I hope all goes well and works out for the Mrs.

  2. Sorry to hear about it, I know it’s miserable and the helpless feeling. My buddy had a seizure while moving a freezer. Thankfully he wasn’t injured by the freezer. It doubly sucked since I had to help shield him from injuring himself since it was in a shop area on a farm. Lots of sharp point objects.

I was really hoping and pulling for you both and I’m sorry to hear she didn’t fully escape. Give your wife an extra hug from me.

My family and I are thinking about you and Mrs. Wee’rd hope things turn out alright. It must be such and up and down ride when last week you were blogging about how she was doing well and not getting carsick any more and then now this. I wrote a short blog just to try and direct all 3 of my readers over to you for details.

Keep us updated as time permits.

These posts are definitely starting to hit close to home for me….my wife has started possibly having drop seizures recently. We were calling it “passing out”, but right now no one knows what it is or what causes it. It’s a wonder she hasn’t hurt herself yet….it may be a matter of time, but I’m hoping a diagnosis is coming soon (seeing ANOTHER specialist Tuesday, but this one has a department at OSU named after him).

Good luck and I hope the improvement returns.

Sorry to hear it. I’m glad you got them stopped. I am keeping you guys in my thoughts.

  6. Good luck to the misses. It seems that her doctor is one to be confident in.

Well, damn, this sucks… I hope things work out for the better, but it seems that may be easier said than done at the moment. Still, fair to say that your wife is lucky to have you around :).
