WOW!

I just watched a delivery man dump a large liquid nitrogen cylinder off the back of a delivery truck. Thankfully the cylinder was an empty one we were returning to the vendor, so there was neither an explosion, rocket-propelled canister, or a massive spill of subzero liquid. Still these cylinders weigh over 100lbs and the driver attempted to stop the cylinder once it started falling. Ended up flipping him onto our loading dock.

He didn’t appear to have been injured, and he was damn lucky at that.

Its a good thing somebody is giving these drivers a job, because besides TSA air-rapist, I can’t imagine many other jobs some of these idiots can do.

    Weer’d:

Do you ever read Derek Lowe’s “In the Pipeline” blog? He’s a pharmaceutical chemist, and writes a lot about drug development. But one of my favorite things on his site is the “How Not To Do It” category, in which he describes various stupid tricks folks have done.

The Texas A&M liquid nitrogen cylinder story is one of his classics, and your post brought it back to the front of my mind…

Holy Crap! to both of those stories.
