Almost Got the Meme Right!

This article starts like this:

am a gun owner. I like to shoot, and although I don’t hunt, I am perfectly fine with the sport. Having gotten that out of the way, I would like to address the three bills to deregulate firearms use in New Hampshire.

COME ON! Keep with the Meme, you just need to say “I’m a Gun Owner But…” before going on an ignorant anti-freedom diatribe. So -1 for efficiency, and -2 for ignoring the Meme you’re a part of. Continuing:

First, regarding allowing guns on campus: What are you thinking? State law doesn’t entrust 18- to 20-year-olds with a beer, but the sponsor of the bill thinks that having guns on campus is okay? College students go to parties and drink. Drinking and guns don’t mix. Additionally, violence and sexual crime is enough of a problem on campuses without having guns to add to the threat.

Read the law, smarty-pants. The Guns on Campus would Petain to people 21+, given our current situations, most of those students will be returning veterans, you know, the people we were entrusting with Machine Guns, explosives, artillery, and air support, and rewarded them with the GI bill that let them go to college. But a nice enlightened gun owner would say these American heroes can’t be trusted with guns on US soil, and they’re just drunken rape-machines, right?

Regarding the second bill, to allow residents to carry concealed weapons without a permit, we already have a liberal permitting process. It doesn’t take much vetting to get a permit, but it does weed out a few people who shouldn’t have guns. Not everyone should have a gun. There are people who don’t have the temperament to be responsible gun owners even if they have the “right” to own one.

First up: NO. New Hampshire is a “Shall Issue” state, if you pay your $10 and fill out the form, if you can legally own a gun you can legally carry one. There is no “Weeding” because such “Weeding” outside of the federal laws that govern us all is ILLEGAL. As for your last bit, there are some people so ignorant that they aren’t responsible enough to write a letter to a local paper, let alone dictate State law…but we have the 1st Amendment and here you are Mr. Wiener! Be thankful the world isn’t run by people like you, it would suck!

Lastly, why put loaded rifles and shotguns in a vehicle? So you can jack deer more easily? Or shoot at tailgaters? Since hunting rifles and shotguns are sporting arms and you can’t shoot from a roadway, what possible justification can there be for this bill?

Three for Three, that’s consistent! First up, gun rights aren’t about sport shooting and hunting. Second what harm does this bill bring? It’s illegal to road hunt, it’s illegal to shoot over traffic offences, and its illegal to poach game. Either laws stop behavior, or they don’t. Which is it?

In short, it is a waste of time and taxpayer money to debate bills which will not produce benefit for the state, will result in increased danger to law enforcement personnel, and reinforce to the rest of the country why they shouldn’t come here to vacation, attend college or even drive on the highway.

So says you. Maybe you want to step back and let the grown ups handle this issue. It seems to be a bit complicated for you.

Or he could just move back to Massachusetts where his paradise already exists…

  2. Jack says:

He gives the game away in the last quotation.

“debate bills which will not produce benefit for the state, will result in increased danger to law enforcement personnel, and reinforce to the rest of the country why they shouldn’t come here to vacation, attend college or even drive on the highway.”

    1) Because all legislation should be about how it benefits the STATE
    2) In a state with Shall issue, the Police should already know that anyone they’re talking too could be legally armed, and even in a May Issue State they should still realize anyone they talk to could be armed.
    3) Heh, oh the irony. Yes New Hampshire’s reputation of harassing and arresting out of state visitors for the simple crime of not realizing that they were entering a Police State… oh wait.

But again, it’s all about the State, is this law good for them?

  3. From comments on the editorial:

“Drop these three bills and concentrate and pass Right to Work.”

What about the employer’s right to tell you to go take a flying fuck at a rolling donut? While you are busy doing that, I can meet my wife for lunch during her school day with my 590 topped up with Foster slugs under the back seat and not have to fuss about covering my G23.

  4. JD Rush says:

Mr Weiner forgot to use the “I’m a lifetime NRA member” meme. The “all gun owners are racists” meme shows up in the comments. I guess if Hillary was president gun owners would all be sexist. Especially the women.

  5. Bubblehead Les says:

Wonder what this jerk would think if he saw Zercool and I walking into the IHOP in New Hampshire during the last BlogShoot, with the Z-Man OC’ing his pistol?

You should have SEEN all the Blood that was Spilled in the restaurant!

No, wait, that was the Ketchup on my homefries.

    Never mind.

  6. MAJ Mike says:

I, too, am a Life NRA member, have hunted some, but shoot more.

The Second Amendment isn’t about duck hunting or personal defense. It’s about the ability of the citizenry to resist an abusive government. Hunting and personal defense, in my opinion, are secondary benefits of the Second Amendment.

I’ve never trusted my government and I trust it even less now. I’m not optimistic about our future. When anyone speaks of limiting my right to own and bear arms, I check for my pistol.

  7. Calm Gun says:

What amazes me is how anyone could believe what this person believes. It is irrational if one merely looks at the facts surrounding firearm ownership.

    • Weerd Beard says:

That’s the root of gun control. Ignorance. Gun banners must NEVER look at the laws or facts, and if they DO look at the law or facts it is then their job to keep all others from learning the truth.

I was anti-gun, I then learned the truth, and stopped being anti-gun. I’m hardly the one one….
