Another Angle

Mike Over at ENDO points out this interesting video.

Mike concentrates on the anti-gun stupidity of Sarah Silverman (I’ll also note the hypocrisy of the fact that she’s bitching about poor people being disenfranchised, AND suggesting they join in a fairly expensive hobby essentially just to piss off conservatives….yeah that makes PERFECT sense!)

Still I’d like to note glaring omission. You see “Progressives” love subsidies. They want EVERYTHING free, Healthcare, birth control, abortion, housing, jobs, or just welfare checks. Have you noticed in all this positive ID discussion that subsidies haven’t come up? Honestly I’m against government paying for much of anything, especially voter ID which is a fairly cheap commodity. How many poor people do you know who don’t have $20-$50 kicking around for non-essential expenses like going to see movies, cable TV, booze, or cigarettes? Yeah they could cancel cable for just one month and have enough in their wallet for a nice ID that’s valid for YEARS.

You see they don’t actually WANT voter ID because its not the money they’re concerned about, its the fact that positive ID would prevent easy cheats like having illegal aliens or prohibited felons, or people who are no longer alive from voting. Same with having somebody racking up a dozen registrations and voting multiple times!

They don’t want ID because they WANT to cheat!

Its also a part of the learned (and actively encouraged) helplessness.

Where “the poor” can’t figure out how to get IDs, get bank accounts, manage money, or do anything other than what their social betters tell them too.

Hell, Silverman herself is having a “let them eat cake” moment.

There’s something about the same folks that demand goverment issued IDs to carry, or even own, guns getting all bent out of shape at the idea of said ID being used as a valid goverment ID.

Depending on the state a toter’s permit will be laminated, have a photo, and even be issued by the DMV. But that’s a murder card!

I can at least see the Indiana “pink card” not being considered valid photo ID, namely because it doesn’t have a photo.

Never thought she was Funny, don’t know why she’s still around, and I’d rather get my “Political Insight” from Madonna.

  3. MAJ Mike says:

The Dem-Cong apparently believe that minorities are too stupid to obtain photo ID.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it here…

DON’T MUZZLE SWEEP THE CAMERA, YOU STUPID C**T, AND KEEP YOUR F**KING BOOGER HOOK OFF THE G*****N BANG SWITCH!

(Yes, I know it’s supposed to be ‘humor’. Don’t care.)

$16 — less if you are over 65 — to get a state issued ID card in the State of Texas

$140 — $70 if poor, elderly or a veteran — to get a Concealed Handgun License in the State of Texas (not counting the $10 photos, $5 range fee, and $25 to $200 for the required class)

Yet Ms. Silverman doesn’t seems a little confused about the actual costs to get a license — I think the words of Judge Judy (saw the commercial only reason I know them) — “Either she is playing dumb or she is”

  6. Greg Camp says:

It’s O.K. to demand photo I.D., plus another photo I.D., to exercise one Constitutionally protected right, but to demand the same for another such right is an outrage? I know, I know, voting is like carrying a gun. With a gun, you can affect a handful of people, but with a few votes one way or another, you can alter the lives of millions.

    • Jack says:

      That’s not all!

Some places have tests you have to pass before you can carry. A few require moral and character references.

Others even have it where the Police Chief can decide to deny you your right out of hand.

      That’s just common sense!

    • Weerd Beard says:

Somebody once said :”If I had to pick between the 1st and 2nd Amendment, I’d pick the 2nd…then say whatever I wanted because I have a gun!” 🙂

  7. Geodkyt says:

Don’t forget — VOTING IS NOT A RIGHT. It is a privilege that cannot be denied for a few, Constitutionally and statutorily defined reasons (race, age over 18, failure to pay a tax, etc).

  8. TS says:

The people whom she is appealing for she sarcastically derides as being dangerous for them to be armed. Win people over by insulting them? Interesting.

  9. Jennifer says:

You mean my 80 year old grandmother just filed for her permit because Sarah Silverman said fuck a lot?!?!
    Or, um, maybe not.
