Another Gun Registration Victory!

Interesting story

Yesterday’s catch of the day? A ditched handgun!

A man fishing on a pier near Carson Beach thought he had caught a big one he could brag to his buddies about when his fishing pole began to arc.

But what Alberto Pina, 37, of Roxbury reeled in was “upsetting and scary,” he said….Boston police spokeswoman Nicole Grant said Pina called 911 at 6:11 p.m., reporting that he “was fishing and caught a gun on his hook.”

Detectives were sent out to recover the barnacle-encrusted gun and interview Pina. Grant said it is still unclear whether the gun was real.

The page has a photo of the gun. Looks like a Walther P99 to me, and I can’t see any obvious signs that its an airsoft or other pellet or replica gun. Occam’s razor says its real. Also even with all the sea life on it, it shouldn’t be too hard to uncover the serial number.

And given that the Massachusetts gun registry is all scanned and converted to electronic files the last owner should have been uncovered in hours….but it hasn’t been. Yet another instance where the Massachusetts Gun Registry is a total farce when it comes to its claims of stopping crime.

Registration is ONLY for future confiscation!

From the guys own blog, they sent out like 20 cops and a mobile crime scene unit, all to determine it was airsoft. Maybe that is why the Boston Herald doesn’t mention it was a fake- all the taxpayer money wasted when they could have sent 2 detectives with a cell phone to check out the found gun report.

I’d have kept quiet and retained the pistol. Then I’d have turned it in at the next gun buy back activity.

    From the article:

“No dinner tonight,” Pina said. “I came here for some striper, not a rifle.”

    (emphasis mine)

So is it a handgun, or a rifle? Gungrabber-promoted ignorance wins again!!

I’m guessing that Alberto Pina reeks of “seafood” where his testicles should be.

So pulling a gun out of the sea is scawwy? How does this guy get through the day? The sad thing is that he has a son whose only hope will be to reject his wimpy father’s take on the world.
