OK first saying that guns cause crime…without ever actually saying it.

Then dropping the “guns are just for killing” fallacy…while coupling it with “Politically Correct guns are ok”….by his argument a Ruger mk III target is “Just For Killing”, but a Browning Auto Five…or the Rem 870 used in the Colorado shooting is just fine.

BTW have you noticed that antis do this? They pretend to be “moderate” by framing the argument with things they neither believe or respect. I think there’s only one way to take the argument that follows…they don’t really believe that either.

Even then antis never dare to step down from the ivory tower so that they might see that their “bold” “fresh” argument has been beaten to death ages ago!.

I know you probably don’t know any gunnies, and if you do they constantly assure you their guns are only for hunting, and they’re all wood and blue steel, honest, and they assure you they’re guilty about owning things, and they can’t recite the text of the 2nd Amendment.

But the next time you think you’re being clever or original, they make tools for that!

Of course not that he believes any of that in the first place, nor does he care what we lawful gun owners think, his dream is to eradicate our rights, then smugly sit back and let the police sort us out.

    Yes yes they are.

You’d think they’d bother to learn about the current state of the law, the current climate in society, or what their enemies are up to and saying.

But no, the antis know that they’re right and that we’re just a bunch of dumb rednecks. So there’s nothing for them to learn.

It’s what happens when Dunning–Kruger effect is blended with the Lakoff policy of “Let’s ignore the our enemy’s arguments and pretend they’re not really saying words”.

Also it’s telling that Lakoff’s supposed guide for all liberal frames only has the word gun come up once. And he never talks about how liberals should “frame” gun control.

      From the Lakoff book:

“Never use your opponent’s language….Never repeat ideas that you don’t believe in, even if you are arguing against them.”

That is a fantastic review of how progressives act. And his ideas are a main cause for their defeat. Shhhhh…don’t tell them. The things that Democrats must know are priceless, just those three. We already use their language to defeat them. If they want to discuss “morality”, I think Conservatives can do that quite well. and finally 3, “Facts have no meaning….” is so patently wrong that his idiocy is obvious. Because when we do use facts and drive it home…we in.

We win because WE DO USE THEIR LANGUAGE. We take THEIR ideas, repeat them, and by doing so, point out where they are wrong. Now, because we are using THEIR language, they are reduced to insults and ad hominem. Or…going LALALALALALALALALA with their hands over their ears….

Yeah, and you can see that the Libs think the Lakoff idea is “solid gold”.

Like how Obama said his greatest weakness was “not good enough stories.”

Meanwhile both Conservatives and Wookies will gleefully spread Liberal ideas and talking points, in order to better understand, debate, and mock them.

Why quoting liberals at their own word is considered a mean trick. Especially since from their frame of reference it shouldn’t work. You don’t win by pointing out what your opponent really believes.

The whole Lakoff idea depends on total control of the narrative. Such that ideas contrary to the Liberal line are never heard. Hence why it falls apart when people can escape the liberal reservation.

And why committed Liberals sound like glassy-eyed cultists. They really are in their own little world.

    • Cargosquid says:

Heh. I must be brilliant. I didn’t read the whole review and just discovered that they made my very point.

I wonder if ol’ Ronnie would feel the same about literacy tests for voting. It wouldn’t be taking away someone’s right to vote. Merely determining whether they were competent or not.
