Pretty nuts, really! I’m amused. The music is pretty basic, but at least the Korean version of Rap isn’t some dork pretending to be a drug dealing and rapping lyrics that consist of A) His Stage Name, and B) The N-Bomb, and C) Repeat.
Still if this is a competition I still think Japan wins with odd videos.
I’m given to understand that Gangam Style is mocking a pretentious rich segment of Korean society. A segment that’s held in similar high regard as Jersey Shore is here. There’s supposedly kind of a scandal around this vid because Koreans just don’t DO mockery like this.
Well given that this is such an international hit, I suspect they now have a good incentive!
the really funny thing about that? the singer is from the area he mocks. he’s a rich kid from the correct side of the river (heck, he went to school in the US), and he’s mocking everything he comes from.
either he’s really trying to make people laugh at him, or dude’s got stones.
