Take it here.

Got via McThag who got it down 2. I got down 5, with one question I just misread, the rest I was stumped dead-to-rights.

Missed 4, one was because I misread “Vice President” as “President.”

I like how the average of the two people from Newfoundland have a higher score than all of the US.

    • Weerd Beard says:

Yeah I somehow answered the length of a Senator’s term for a Congressman, I could have sworn it was the other way.

Yeah I saw that too. But think of what kind of Newfie would be taking this quiz.

Overall the numbers are going to be skewed artificially high because they people who get bored when talking about politics and the Constitution simply won’t sit through it, unless some High School civics class is mandating the test.

  2. Cargosquid says:

    WooHoo! Got 100%.

But I guessed on two of them.

22 How many Amendments have been proposed officially by Congress but never ratified? C C: 6
23 Which of these amendments is a ratified and current amendment? D D: Prohibiting the importing of liquor into States where it is illegal

  3. Alan says:

100% #23 was tricky but all the other answers were not ever amendments and the 19th is still an amendment, it’s just nulled by the 21st amendment. It’s interesting that there’s no provision in the constitution to remove an amendment.

    Damn, those guys were smart.

  4. Bubblehead Les says:

Missed 3. Forgot that the House can Impeach all day long, but the Senate has to Vote to remove them. Pop Quiz: Which 2 New England RINO Female Senators voted “NO” during the Clinton Impeachment? And why are they still in Office?

    • Weerd Beard says:

The reason is A) They’re Intrenched, and its well-known-Maine Senators vs. Nobody
      B) Its Wishy-Washy RINOS vs. Ultra-Commies, and while Maine is fairly Blue, we’d never elect Dennis Kucinich, which is generally how the challengers stack up against the two RINO Ladies.

    • Cargosquid says:

I believe that the Senators voted NO because they were intimately acquainted with Gore and realized that he would have been a disaster.

  5. Kurt P says:

Missed three- all on the amendments.

  6. MAJ Mike says:

Missed one, got the number of proposed but not ratified amendments wrong. I did teach high school U.S. History, so I would’ve been really embarassed had I done poorly.

  7. Missed 4. Mainly Amendments. I guess I’ve spent too much time with a focus on the first 10 Amendments to pay attention to the rest of them. Time to do some study work.

  8. maddmedic says:

    3
Geesh and all 3 were DUH’s!!!!

  9. JD Rush says:

    29. Eisenhower was born in Texas, I guessed Nixon. I know GWB is a Conn. Yankee, not a Texan.

    • Weerd Beard says:

Yeah actually I had it narrowed to one of those two. Seems Dick was born in Cali, which is fitting, I assumed Ike got his brass ones from somewhere. Yep, The whole Bush clan is a lot of Yankees…and not just any Yankees, but New York’s little bitch, Yankees! 😉

(Full apologies to Mopar and Cher, who are awesome!)

  10. Wally says:

    I missed 4 – and those 4 questions I’d certainly classify more as trivia…

22 How many Amendments have been proposed officially by Congress but never ratified?
23 Which of these amendments is a ratified and current amendment?
26 Who was the first Vice President of the United States?
29 Which of these Presidents was born in Texas?

  11. guffaw says:

Missed 2. I fault being in a hurry and guessing on one.

  12. Greg Camp says:

    I missed two:

How many amendments were proposed, but never ratified?
Which president was born in Texas?

It’s easy to criticize the ones that we miss, but I do have to wonder why several of the questions would be asked on a citizenship test. Does a prospective citizen really need to know where a president was born, especially since he lived there only two years?

  13. Blue says:

    Missed two. Damn.

  14. karrde says:

Missed 2. (Number of Amendments left un-enforced, and date of last Amendment. Should have remembered that one, it was within my lifetime.)

Guessed on “President born in Texas”, and got it right.
