Good Job, Skippy!

I love stories like this!

A Connecticut man purchased a 17-pound lobster at a Waterford restaurant, then released the crustacean back into Long Island Sound.

Don MacKenzie of Niantic tells The Day of New London (http://bit.ly/MGvGHb ) he knew the lobster, nicknamed “Lucky Larry” by local children, would have to be about 80-years-old to reach his current size and felt it deserved to live.

Dunno if its quite 80, but big lobsters like that are old-people old. Still I wonder if the local bug catchers could get this guy’s contact info, so when they land a good catch of “Premium” Lobsters (Bugs 8lbs or more, which are fairly common in deep water) they can call him so he can buy them and set them free…then go out and get a bunch more big bugs for him to liberate!

They could form a nice little cottage industry for uppity Liberals who want to “save the planet” in easy and ineffective ways!

Weer’d you know I normally agree with ya but I gotta say I have some respect for this guy. He used HIS OWN money (pay attention Obama and the O-Bots) to support what he felt was the right thing to do. As long as he is not a welfare case spending public money on freeing the lobster (the can in MA folks – EBT cards rule!) good for him. So few people will actually stand up for their convictions with their own cash these days this is actually good to see in my book. . . .

and if I am missunderstand the title and you are backing his actions I apologies for the mix up = )

Yep, I’m all for him supporting the local lobster industry!

When you buy a lobster you can do whatever you want with it. Eat it, let it go, keep it in a tank as a pet. Hell he can fuck it if he wants, I really am not going to worry too much about the animal welfare of a cannibalistic sea-cockroach!

Even better is that maybe the bug catchers can work with him so they sell him lobsters, he lets them go, they catch them again and sell them to him! 😀
