Police said Tuesday that they have arrested five people in the shocking deaths of an Arizona couple found tied up and burned beyond recognition in their stylish stucco home in a posh Phoenix suburb.
The murders of Lawrence and Glenna Shapiro, well-to-do philanthropists in their 70s, were the first in nearly eight years in Paradise Valley, which is set among picture-perfect mountains popular with hikers and is home to some of the area’s nicest resorts and lushest golf courses.
Pretty brutal, huh? But not a “Gun Death”. This doesn’t count, because only “Gun Death” counts.
So much for ‘Give them what they want and they won’t hurt you”.
I suppose it would be in poor taste to note they won’t get a candle either…
“the first in nearly eight years in Paradise Valley….”
So we can log this under the “crime doesn’t happen here” files, too. That still won’t make it count.
@Jay G: Probably poorer taste to note a death by “firing squad,” which still wouldn’t matter because it’s the wrong kind of fire. Users of the “Gun Death” “statistic” are truly sick puppies.
