“Gun Death” Senseless Accident

I’m gobsmacked at this one.

Renowned former ballet dancer, actress and teacher Zina Bethune was hit by two vehicles and killed after getting out of her car in an apparent attempt to help a wounded animal, authorities said Monday.

Bethune, 66, whose married name is Zina Feeley, left her Lincoln Towncar running on Forest Lawn Drive early Sunday and got out to help what turned out to be a dead opossum, police Sgt. Jeffrey Siggers told the Los Angeles Times.

She was hit by an eastbound vehicle, then thrown into the opposite lane, where she was hit by another vehicle that dragged her body more than 600 feet, police said. She had severe head injuries and died at the scene.

Good lord, all of this for a Possum? I don’t care if its a bald eagle, if you see an injured animal in the road ITS NOT WORTH IT! Seriously an animal struck by a car is either going to recover or die no matter what you do, and it isn’t worth your life.

Yet another senseless death, and it doesn’t matter if no guns were used. So why do people us the metric of “Gun Death” again?

I’ll have to take a small objection to that statement. An injured animal can sometimes be saved by a Vet. Naturally, the only animal worth saving is a dog. (everything else is stew meat, even road-kill possum) Dorgus Facelickius is mans best friend and possesses many qualities lacking in the current human world.

It should go without saying that once you exit your vehicle, you should “tactically” look left, look right, and then look left again before darting into oncoming traffic. (I learned that from Ma when I was but a tad)

It would seem that deceased possums are deadly to ballet dancers. Perhaps we need a Csar to oversee, tax and regulate this terrible affront to interspecies equality. But first, we’ll need to know the racial composition of both of the participants

I’m fresh out of candles but I will fire up a pipe out of respect. (and nicotine addiction)
