More CSGV Stupidity

Of course all the anti-rights groups are gun registration, not to prevent crime or improve public safety, as that’s been proven to be false…but for confiscation. Still they can’t admit their true intentions, because people might notice that they’re evil.

Now let’s look at reality. First he’s saying “Perps”, meaning Suspects of crimes. There needs to be some suspicion as running the serial number on a gun needs to have probable cause or a warrant to protect the 4th Amendment rights of the owners (not that Anti-Freedom people much care for the 4th Amendment….the 4th only applies to people THEY like), so we’re talking about an armed suspect of a crime. Well if the police ARREST the person, well the gun gets confiscated. Now if the person is charged with a serious crime, they become a prohibited person for the duration of their court trial. (see GCA ’68) Again the gun is confiscated, and can only be returned if the person is not convicted. Now let’s take the most common “Armed Perp” situation. Gang members and drug dealers. These people generally have prior convictions, again doesn’t matter who owns the gun, prohibited people can’t be going about armed.

This is yet another great example of anti-rights people calling for more restrictions to fix a problem we really don’t have. Same can be said about banning private sale. They want to stop criminals from getting guns…but even in places where private sales are illegal criminals get guns, and knowingly selling a gun to a criminal is a crime.

We don’t call them “Anti-Freedom” for nothing!

    Weer’d,

Maybe I’m getting something else out of Janelle’s comment.

“At least you can have total confidence he is not legally armed” — doesn’t mean he won’t be ‘illegally’ armed now does it?

Doesn’t it seem like she trusts the criminals more than she trusts the ‘legally armed’?

And this is supposed to be common sense? “HEY Let’s create a place where everyone with a GUN is a CRIMINAL” — yeah, that place is really going to be safe, right?

    • Rob Crawford says:

The purpose of gun control is to put innocent people at the mercy of criminals. Whether those criminals are inside government or outside government is a matter of chance.

  2. Cargosquid says:

“HEY Let’s create a place where everyone with a GUN is a CRIMINAL” — yeah, that place is really going to be safe, right?”

For them, that’s a feature, not a bug. If EVERYONE is a criminal, THEIR stats on “crime guns” goes up, their narrative increases, and they can lie more easily.

And they can feel safe, because we all know that no one EVER breaks laws.

    • Jack says:

These are people that if given a choice between:

      1) X% of the criminal population being armed and 0% of the general population being armed.
      2) 0.5 X% of the criminal population being armed but 50X% of the general population being armed

They will always, always take the former over the latter.

      • Archer says:

Yep. It’s never been about reducing violence, or shootings, or crime. That’s all a carefully orchestrated cover, though lately some of the anti-freedom crowd has been marching out of step, and the orchestration is slipping.

It’s always been about reducing gun ownership, and since you can’t predict the actions of criminals, nor can you coerce them with the force of law, and because law-abiding gun owners vastly outnumber the criminals, “gun laws” aim to keep the law-abiding from having guns. It’s the easiest way to have less guns; going after the criminals would be dangerous, after all. Therefore, WE are the low-hanging fruit, because we have respect for the law, and as such follow even the bad ones.

      • Cargosquid says:

WELL said! I am SO going to steal…um, borrow that.

  3. Bubblehead Les says:

Unpossible! Why, for Decades, Gun Registration was widely used, and many Cities and Localities still have those Laws on the Books. And as any person who wants “Common Sense Gun Laws” will tell you, any place where “Gun Registration” is MANDATORY, there are ZERO Crimes of Violence with Guns!

You know, places like Washington,DC, NYC, Chicago……

  4. Greg Camp says:

It couldn’t be clearer: They’re opposed to people being legally armed. This leaves us with one of three possibilities:

    1. They want a police state in which only agents of the government have weapons. That situation will be created and enforced by said agents.

    2. Criminals have guns and cops have guns, but ordinary citizens do not.

    3. CSGV is simply delusional in thinking that a country like America could ever be disarmed.

I’m going with #3, since we won’t allow the first two.

  5. Why is the CSGV so blatantly racist?

NYC is under fire for their stop and frisk program because it targets Black and Hispanic males…….80% to 90% of the time…..

And CSGV so flagrantly used the term ‘perp’? That must be a new code word for Black or Hispanic male…..
