Local airport considering security changes after pilot boards plane with loaded gun…The pilot, Brett Dieter, 52, of Barboursville, faces a federal charge of attempting to carry a weapon or explosive on an aircraft. Dieter could not be reached for comment Monday. He was released following an initial court appearance and is scheduled to return to U.S. District Court in Buffalo, N.Y., on Wednesday….Federal officials allege he made seven flights over two days with the gun in his bag. Officials said Dieter is not a member of the federal Flight Deck Officer Program, which allows commercial pilots to carry firearms in the cockpit on duty.
Of course the reasonable security change is to stop giving a shit about this pointless nonsense. First up, if the Pilot wants to start some shit he can fly the plane into the ground or large body of water. Everything else is harder, and less dangerous to do.
Second, where’s the problem? Nobody was hurt, threatened, or even FRIGHTENED.
Guns in the hands of lawful citizens are NOT a problem. Meanwhile the September 11th attacks were committed with BOX CUTTERS. But you know what the biggest weapon the terrorists used that day? The fact that all the passengers were unarmed. Just like school shooters, the terrorists chose aircraft because they KNEW there would be no resistance, and a bunch of guys with box cutters could get the job done.
Add ONE pilot, or passenger with a .357, and things can change DRAMATICALLY!
Further comes the serious stupidity that isn’t addressed. If I’m fine on the sidewalks, highways, public transit, as well as places like grocery stores, movie theaters, museums, and zoos with a loaded gun, what is sticking me on an Airplane going to do?

I read a comment online a while back in which a pilot was given a hard time by TSA. He finally said in exasperation: Look, geniuses. Out there on the tarmac is a fifty-million-dollar airplane, loaded with several tons of explosive jet fuel. The keys are in my pocket. Do you really, seriously, think of me as a security risk?
I have never understood objections against allowing pilots – of all people – to carry firearms onto aircraft. They are locked behind a supposedly bullet-proof door, and they are in complete control of a very large guided missile, and could plant it in any building they so desired.
What do the anti-rights cultists think they will do? Take potshots at the passengers?
Simple, whenever there is a law-abiding citizen carrying a firearm their goal is to TAKE IT AWAY!
People claim they only want police or military carrying guns….but there are examples of these turds demanding those people to relinquish their weapons as well.

I can understand requiring passengers to check their firearms, since the air crew needs to be in control of the aircraft, but the crew is trusted with one of the most powerful weapons of the modern world, as we saw on 9/11. The truth about control freaks is that they trust no one with anything.
