So I found an Atari 2600 Emulator, and I grabbed these two games I remember playing a LOT of. I also remember playing a LOT of Donkey Kong Jr,Popeye and Pac-Man, but all of those are ports of arcade games. These two are, as far as I know, only for the 2600
Wow, I used to play this shit? Man I was ENJOYING playing them again NOW in an age where we have 3D multiplayer real-time shooters with realistic weapons and blood????
No wonder I’m so in love with Nethack! I was damaged when my mind was still forming to play games that are hard and frustrating, and light on graphics and sound.
Humpf!
Retro gaming. BAH!
Where are the _DICE_?
Dice? BAH! In the old days, you picked random numbers out of dixie cups!
More BAH!
I was wistful for the old days when you were born!
It would be an insult to call such games “Retro” as they’re still just as relevant today as they were then.
Even the D&D white box is still “modern” as the predominant hardware was, and still is the players minds.
Retro is a modern recreation of an older style.
Vintage is an actual item of that style.
Playing white box today would be retro.
Of course, I had a 2600 when it was just Atari.
I am both embarrassed and proud to say that I have 2 Atari 2600’s, one 5200 and an Intelivision with about 40 games for each and we do actually play them. BTW they won’t go full screen on a wide flat screen TV…
ZOMG, ET! I’m one of three people on the planet who actually LIKED that game. 🙂
No wonder we’re friends! We can play next time you’re over! 8) Or you can download it yourself!
