Why I Call Them the “Democrat Party”

So our current President is a Democrat. That is without dispute, its a party name. But when people call it the “Democratic Party” that’s garbage. You don’t call it the “Party of the Republic”. Its the “Republican Party” and the members are “Republicans”.

Further we are NOT a Democracy, and its a shame on how many people aren’t aware of that. Further, even if we WERE a Democracy, the Democrat party would be opposed to it.

Belchertown Democratic Town Committee Chairman Ken Elstein fired off the last-minute missive to dozens of fellow delegates who will determine Saturday whether DeFranco will appear on the September primary ballot with Warren.

“A vote for DeFranco is a vote for Scott Brown and Mitch McConnell,” reads Elstein’s email, obtained by the Herald. “Ms. DeFranco will convince some delegates that a primary is somehow ‘fair’ (to whom?), or ‘Let the people decide.’ … Please, do what you can to keep your delegates on track to keep a Democratic Senate.”…Former Massachusetts Democratic Chairman Phil Johnston also said it “makes no sense for delegates” to support DeFranco.

“I don’t think there’s any chance Marisa DeFranco can win a primary against Elizabeth Warren, so I don’t understand the rationale for her candidacy except that it would have a damaging effect on our chances of winning the November election,” he said.

Well given all the controversy and incompetence from Elizabeth Warren, is there any wonder why delegates might be considering a less tainted candidate?

Of course the larger question is, Why have a convention at all? Seems the party who calls themselves “Democratic” simply wants a coronation.

Calling it the “Democratic Party” is a political fallacy.
