You Are a Threat!

McThag has an interesting post on law enforcement officers discussing Stand Your Ground.

Overall I have had no negative experiences with Police officers, and I know several who are wonderful people. I know there are bad apples, and I have been lucky to encounter none of them.

That being said, overall I’m distrustful of Police. Why? Because they are a direct threat to me. No-Knock warrens, vague “Probable Cause”, the “Thin Blue Line”, and Qualified Immunity, as well as the magic that is Massachusetts may-issue gun permits for GUN OWNERSHIP. And that’s not even getting into the Union rackets.

All the cops I’ve met have been nice people, and any whom I’ve talked to do the job for the cliche protect and serve. That being said, its their good will that keeps them from being horrible monsters….that’s it. They are only human. Doctors, lawyers, teachers, preachers, and cashiers, there are good ones, and evil ones. And they are always asking for MORE POWER.

When you note that there is a plethora of SWAT teams with tanks, air supports, and NFA firearms, the Police are the “Standing Armies” that our founding fathers warned us about.

And most of our founding fathers served in the Revolutionary war, as well as prior, and subsequent wars. I’m sure they were proud of their service, and loved their brothers-in-arms, but still they saw the danger then. We should still see it now.

  1. The only reason a LEO would be against Stand Your Ground is because he is a Jack Booted Thug who thinks the prols should not have the right to defend themselves, and should just roll over and take the violence that they deserve. As far as I’m concerned, any LEO who is speaking out against SYG is suspect, and needs to be investigated.

In a way, the police are now the army. While not being “boarded” in our homes, they enforce the law. Their job is NOT to uphold our rights. Whereas, if the law relied upon the militia to uphold it, the law had better not be one that abuses the rights of said militia.
