Don’t go making selfish acts with other people’s property.
A 91-year-old man walked into a gun shop, asked to see a handgun and shot himself in the head Wednesday morning, police said.
An employee at the Roseburg Gun Shop reported a shot fired inside the store just after 8 a.m. Wednesday.
The employee told plice that a customer had come in and asked to look at a handgun. The clerk handed the unloaded firearm to the customer. When the employee turned away for a moment, he heard a gunshot. He ran from the building and called police.
It wasn’t his gun, it wasn’t his property. Wouldn’t surprise me if he popped open a box of range ammo off the shelf and palmed a round. I have no sympathy for this jerk. That was a straight-up dick move!

Won’t be long before ALL the ammo is behind the counter. I’m a little surprised that the lawyers haven’t made that happen already. That will SUCK for people who don’t do the whole “talking to people” thing very well.

That will generally suck. I rarely buy ammo at box stores. I buy all my ammo at local stores and online because there I can browse the ammo.
I HATE waiting to be SERVED just to buy a brick of .22 or a few boxes of .45. Most shops have the good defensive stuff behind the counter, which I understand, as that pocket-sized box of 25 Speer Gold Dots is $25+, and the 50-round box of Hydra Shoks is north of $50!
This is one of the reasons why all the boxed* ammo was behind the counter when I worked at the Fun Store.
Well, that, and apprently there are plenty of Cletii who restock on carry ammo by stealing ONE ROUND from a box at each store in town. . .
*No problems with the milsurp stuff in cans and cases — we just parked the pallet in the corner by the Uncle Mike’s wall and Pachmeyer grip sampler. This was in the days of cheap Chinese copper washed steel cased 7.62x39mm.
Old Dude couldn’t find a bridge in the area that was High enough? Dumbass.
Or why’s he pinching his pennies? Just BUY a Hi-Point and a box of JHPs!
Heck, just put it on a credit card. It’s not like he’s going to have to worry about the bill!
