“Gun Death” Energy Drinks

Chicago too! Irony!

On the eve of City Council hearings on a proposed ordinance to ban energy drinks in Chicago, the maker of one brand of those beverages is disputing allegations that its products are dangerous.

A Maryland family whose child died after consuming monster energy drinks disagrees. They want to help stop the sale of the drinks.

Alderman Ed Burke has proposed banning high-caffeine energy drinks in Chicago. A hearing Tuesday afternoon will address that proposal.

Go read the story, I don’t think the drink was actually to blame…still ban it anyway..should work as well as the other bans Chicago does!

Well that’s just stupid. It’s terrible she died, but she coulda had a few starbucks frappuchinos over 2 days and had the same thing happen, or just plain old coffee. Would legislators be calling for a ban on Folgers?

  2. Archer says:

Will possession now be a misdemeanor or felony? If you have a case of the drinks, will that automatically be possession with intent to distribute, and how serious a crime will that be?

Why do I get the feeling there will soon be a thriving black market in energy drinks?
