Just When I Thought I Couldn’t Love the LCR More

I wasn’t so sure about the Ruger LCR when it first came out. It didn’t seem that much better than my S&W642.

Then they came out with the .357 Magnum version at only a fraction of the price of the Scandium .357s offered by S&W. Then they came out with the .22 LR…yeah I NEED one of those.

Now .22 WMR!!

I wish they had built up the cylinder a bit more so it could hold 8 like the .22 LR version, but 6 rounds of .22 WMR isn’t anything to squawk about.

have a look at this ballistic test in gel from a smaller gun:

My father in law carries the LCP in .380 and my dad has the .38 LCR that he carries. I cannot hit the broadside of a barn with it and I have tried. This kicks worse than my Judge but the .22 mag definitely intrigues me.

    Thanks for posting this!

Jay has the LCR in .38 too. I’ve shot it a few times, and while I find that there’s something subtle about the gun that makes it kick a little more than my 642, it no less accurate.

Of course its a lightweight small-frame .38 that in the micro .380 and 9mm pistols are some of the hardest guns on the planet to master.
