Love this Guy!

Nothing like a guy who posts videos about guns I’ve never even heard of!

neat that somebody other than H&K (with the P7 series) attempted to use the gas delay system. Overall there’s a reason why EVERYBODY uses the Browning short-recoil system in pistols.

And that design was created as the “Rogak”. It had an 18 round mag when the Browning Hi-Power had the biggest mag at 13. And the Rogak was more lethal as a hammer than as a gun becuz it would jam on about every 2nd round. Yah, I bought one new and had it about a week. It might be a collector now.

The aptly named by Tam “High-Point and Koch” VP70 also was 18+1, it was also essentially a double-stack high-point given the horrible trigger, and direct blowback action controlled by an excessively bulky slide.

The VP70z is also utterly reliable, very accurate once the heavy DAO trigger is mastered (due partly to its fixed barrel), has very few moving parts, and used a polymer frame 12 years before Gaston fielded a Glock. Field stripping takes about 2 seconds and likely has never resulted is ballistic piercing.

The balance is definitely top-heavy and finding a proper holster can be a nightmare.

I remember when the GB was the fanboi fave among the Wunderneun crowd because MOAR BULLETZ. And, like the HK fanboiz, pretty much everyone of them had never seen one in person, much less fired or maintained one.

Like so many delayed blowback guns, it is very ammo sensitive, and like every other Teutonic attempt at the gas delayed blowback system, all the lipstick in the world won’t turn this pig into a supermodel.

Yeah, there’s a reason it lost the Austrian Army trials to the Glock and the US trials to the Beretta.
