Maybe a New Tactic for Our Side?

Via Thirdpower from the Netroots con:

American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten said the movement should take a page from immigration and same-sex marriage advocates and present clear, touching stories of those who gain and lose from gun violence. “When people see faces and when they are impacted individually, it changes minds,” she said.

What she’s talking about is showing faces of dead children…possibly the bodies of dead people (against the wishes of the families I might add!) to push an anti-gun agenda.

Still the pro-gun side is one of facts and reason, and we’ve had so much of this emotional pearl-clutching that we’ve got a pretty good callus built up to it.

Still the anti-gun side LIVES in this land. So maybe it will work well for US!

This is Jeanne Assam, and without her, and her gun, the New Life Church likely would have been a mass-shooting on the scale of the other media circuses exploited by the anti-rights cult.

Let them tell us why SHE shouldn’t have had a gun that day!

    I like it!

Pearl High School – Pearl, MS (1997): They should tell us why Joel Myrick shouldn’t have had a gun in his truck that day, and why he should be charged with possession on school property. (Power to the 1911!!)

Luby’s Cafeteria – Killeen, TX (1991): They should explain exactly why it’s morally superior for Suzanna Hupp to NOT be armed in the face of a mass shooter. (Repeat for the victims at VA Tech.)

They did say to promote the stories of those who have gained from gun violence as well.
